Motorcycle Lock; What kind do you use if any?

I have been searching for a MC lock for my Scout Bobber. In my "perfect world" I wouldn't need one. BUT I am going to as some deterrence is better than none. The disc locks with alarm seem a fairly good idea, but my research shows they frequently give a false alarm. So I am also considering Brake Lever Locks. Some of them include a cable for helmet. Due to the fact I just purchased a carbon modular LS2 with comms included, I would like to keep the helmet locked as well. Are there other mechanical locks I am not considering?? I know I can get an alarm with GPS tracking and install a wireless ignition.
Thanx in advance!

Hi Trybal, I have lifted this post of mine from another thread. This may give you a better idea of what to buy perhaps?

Hi Wanderlustus, over here security devices are tested to destruction by a company called Thatcham. Dependent on how the items fair and how long it takes to defeat them they are then given a ‘Thatcham Rating.’

This may help your decision perhaps?

Whilst this may cause consternation for ‘Indian Die-Hards’ I kept my Harley Thatcham approved disc lock and mounted it on the Scout on a bracket for ease of access and to prevent carrying it.

You can also get regular padlocks with shackles that fit in the holes of the rotor. One in front and one in back positioned so the wheels can’t roll. Get one of this lanyards like the casino uses and attach to the front lock and over your grip so you don’t forget they are there. Only a deterrent since if they want it bad enough, they will get it.

I’ll second @Moe1962 ’s suggestion. Disc / Rotor locks are easy to put on / take off, work well, are readily available and cheap.
Be sure to notify your Insurance Agent that you’re using one - to reduce your premium payments.

Be sure to get this too if using a disc lock or one you cannot see when hopping on the bike. It will soon become habit, but I have see more the a few try to ride off with their locks still on. Velcro to the gauge area, or in view when you get on the bike (as we have keyless these days).

I use the ABUS Granite and a wall mount. Similar to the THATCHAM 1st place ranker - which also uses the ABUS Wallmount. Or is this the US-Version of ABUS?
