Metzeler Tires Separating and Cupping

I have more than one motorcycle on the road and run several different brands and that variable increases with time. Hate Michelin’s, I’ve owned one set touring, one set adventure and extremely disappointed with both. Continental has a serious delamination issue which is over several series and types, I believe the root cause is curing temperature as Continental uses a variable heat application to derive a form of multi compound versus actually differing the compound composition.
Dunlop is making strides due to new ownership and fresh money. Metzeler has always produced excellent adventure tires and I’ve had many sets with no problems although no touring tires.
All touring tire manufacturers got into a tread life durability contest with some actually lasting more than 30,000 miles on heavyweights. You can only got so far with tread depth and center section hardness before a tire becomes a unmanageable lump. Odd wear patterns are a result of the new chemistry, extreme braking, and low air pressure. Cupping I’ve only seen in front tires.
It’s okay to sacrifice a little longevity for adhesion.
