I have spools I bought for my scout and never used them. Don't know if they work for the Chief but if they do let me know.

The Scout spools are a little different. You can buy spools for your Chief on Ebay for about $40. Much cheaper that the Indian dealer.

the ebay ones say 17, 18, 19 and 2020 chief i have the 2022 Chief darkhorse will they still work?

I am 87.634% sure they will fit. I don't think Indian wanted to change this with all the supply problems they have.

As far as I know, there are 2 different sizes of mounting spools for the bags. Make sure the ones you buy are compatible with your bags. I think the hardbags were different than the leather bags.

I agree. Is there a way to contact the seller to see if they’ll fit? From my experience, there’s almost zero compatibility between pre and post 2022 Chief parts.

Sadly they don't work with the 2022 Chief .....going to have to pony up $179.00 for the Indian ones. You can put them on the bike but the quick release sissy bar or anything like that won't work with it. The spools are too small, the part doesn't give confident to hold the bags against the bike.
