Two questions: The new pegs I want need a 3/8 inch hole, am I good? Second, how do you get the spring clips off? Thanks!

Those spring clips are a pain. I used two small screwdrivers. Hold the inside end still while you move the outside one. Get the outside edge out far enough to clear the lip, then move it to the top of the bolt. Then you can catch the edge and wind it off the top.
I ordered kuryakyn boards that came with new eclips. Buy an eclip pliers and it's easy from that point.

Or you could replace the pin with a same size bolt and Nylon insert nut!
