Just wanted to give some love and a shout-out to our favorite member @CraigB1960. Craig is definitely a shining star in our community and his generosity and dedication is inspirational.

Purchased a PV4 for my Chieftain but it was on a Friday night. Fuel Moto makes you jump through a bunch of hoops to get a tune and everybody knows that when you have a new toy, you want to play with it ASAP. I reached out to Craig that evening and within an HOUR he had a KICK-A$$ tune for my 111. He even sent me TWO tunes to see which one I liked better.

Fuel Moto didnt even send me my FIRST tune until 4 days later...I was testing out Craigs tune that very evening.

@CraigB1960, you are AMAZING brother and I know I speak for all of us here when I say we are VERY lucky to have you in our tribe. Thank you again sir!

There is a very good reason Craig had earned the Lifetime Achievement Award on this forum! He has helped many of us (including me) over the years and is a big part of making Indians and this forum as respected as it is. I met him early on when this forum got started and he was helping me out with some of the ignition curves from my stage 2 factory tune. If it wasn't for Craig I probably would have sold my beloved Roadmaster. I had the honor to meet him in person years ago and had lunch together. I'm hoping to get down that way again soon to see him again. You get a big thumbs up from me also! Dean

Ditto - Craig has patiently given me step by step assistance being a newbie to Indiana and the world of ECU, tunes etc. He walked me thru everything and gave me vital options and sound advice. Dean is right, Craig B has selflessly give his wisdom, expertise and genuine love for the tribe and we love him back. Thx Craig.

I call Craig “the Indian whisperer” after he solved a problem that had the folks at the mothership and at my local dealership scratching their heads. He is a rare breed ~~ always willing to help, often donating his time, and with the skills and knowledge to effectively get stuff done.

My hero. Just a great human being.

Plain and Simple...Craig is the man!!!!
There are many happy Indian owners because of him on this forum. Including me!

I don't know if he would accept the MVP Award alone though. I think he would be very happy to share it with @RACNRAY.
The 2 of them combined and collaborating together have made this forum and should have made Polaris very proud of them to make Indian what it is today.

@CraigB1960 is THE Indian tuning Guru! Been using his tune from day 1, I still have the 2nd of two tunes email to me by Craig, my 2016 Chieftain is a Beast according to the Sturgis Indian tech that built the Thunder Stroke 111 for me, I have the best performing Indian in my small city.

AWESOME! LOL:LOL::ROFLMAO:
I don't have a use for Craig's flash due to no tuner on my bike, but if I did, glad to know where to go. Thanks for the comfort in knowing this Craig B. The Real Slim Shady. ;):) Kudos to you for all the help on the forum. I'm sure I will have a question or problem at one point in which you will bail me out of my predicament. LOL

The way to fix that is to learn to recognize when it's about to do it and pull the clutch first. As with all modern electronically fuel injected engines, the fuel is cut off completely when it's coasting with the throttle closed. As it gets down to a set slow speed, the fuel cuts back in and the ECU gives it throttle to prevent stalling. That can't be done smoothly; it will lurch. There are tables in the idle section that control it. I set mine down to 800 RPM with a warm engine (it will occur at the higher idle speed if the engine isn't warm.) I had it stall a few times kicking back in at 800 RPM with the clutch pulled, so I set it to idle at 850 RPM when the vehicle is moving. But the no-jerk fix is to pull the clutch before the jerk, then smoothly engage the clutch and throttle.

I am a 'keep it stock' guy so I've never had the pleasure of dealing with CraigB1960, but KUDOS to you Craig! The glowing comments above, and comments I've read in the past, are testament to the kind of person you are. We all benefit from good people like you. Thank you.

Certainly, but when the fuel is cut off, you can't cut it back on perfectly smoothly. Carbs handle it well, and any EFI system that goes to idle power instead of cutting the fuel off would act the same way as a carb. No lurch. My EFI cars have all had automatic transmissions, which I think would mask the effect. I may have incorrectly stated that all EFI systems cut off the fuel, but the Bosch system Indian uses does, and you can't stop that with a tune. You can lower the engine speed at which it occurs. I've become accustomed to keeping the clutch in the "friction zone" and finessing the throttle and clutch in low speed maneuvering. I can't do that stuff on parking lot courses I see on YouTube, but I manage.

I don’t doubt what you’re saying! 90% of the time its not an issue! (WI doesn’t have many switchbacks and corkscrews!) However this is my touring bike… in search of twisties and curvies! I’ve had to change my shorts a few times on hairpins and corkscrews! If its not solvable… my next touring bike probably won’t be an Indian 🤪

To spend that much on a motorcycle and have this problem… it just ain’t right!
