Does anyone have the part number to the Scout Bobber/Rogue ignition cover bolt? Mine snapped off today. When you look up the ignition cover it does not show it with bolts.
I answered my own question, I will put the info here in case anyone else needs it:Does anyone have the part number to the Scout Bobber/Rogue ignition cover bolt? Mine snapped off today. When you look up the ignition cover it does not show it with bolts.

I found it thanks. I posted on my thread in case anyone else is looking.Probably a regular metric allen.I've had good luck getting these at Lowes or Home Depot.Take 1 for comparing length and proper thread pitch.
Ya, I'm a big fan of anti-sieze. Just about everything I take apart, gets anti-sieze going back together. Especially on the Scout with all the steel bolts going into aluminum. I use the copper stuff. If I ever have a problem with a bolt snapping off, I use Never-seize on the new one..it will always come loose the next time I remove the new bolt.

Yeah so do I. These were the torqued down ones for the factory. Weird thing is they were a lot tighter on the ignition cover than the thermostat cover. If I ever have a problem with a bolt snapping off, I use Never-seize on the new one..it will always come loose the next time I remove the new bolt.

It definitely was Indian factory or dealership that put it in. I bought it brand new special order and have never touched it.That bolt was cross threaded to hell. Hope that wasn’t Indian that put that in lol
Yep, it sure looks like it. I would run an M6x1.0 tap down the bolt hole to clean up the threads, before I installed the new bolt. That bolt was cross threaded to hell. Hope that wasn’t Indian that put that in lol
Just go to home depot, match it.... super cheap and easy, they sell those.Does anyone have the part number to the Scout Bobber/Rogue ignition cover bolt? Mine snapped off today. When you look up the ignition cover it does not show it with bolts.

Yeah I have one of those.Use a thread chaser, not a tap.You don't want to possibly cut new threads and really mess up the hole.
Already bought stock bolt.Just go to home depot, match it.... super cheap and easy, they sell those.
Yeah, it’s a better alternative, but use something to chase the thread.Use a thread chaser, not a tap.You don't want to possibly cut new threads and really mess up the hole.
