Just ordered a tall boy from Ultimate Seats. Hope I won’t be disappointed by the fit. I am aware the color match will be off. I can always get the cover changed at my local upholstery shop. I will do a honest no bull review upon arrival.

I did a lot of reading and research it came down between a Ultimate and a Saddlemen. The Ultimate I know will 100% fit my Vintage. I have seen on some Harley-Davidson’s the Saddlemen left some spaces and gaps between the frame and the seat. Saddlemen does make a tall boy type like of seat but not for the Indian as of the date and time of this post. Also with the Saddlemen you either have to order the seat without the ability to put a back rest on or you have to order it with the backrest and of you don’t need or want it your stuck with it. I’m tall hand have a 34-35 inch inseam so not knowing how the Saddlemen will work was a long shot and I’m not that lucky lol
Always try the seats that can be returned with no charge to you first. Lol speaking from a lot of experience selling unreturnable seats thru the years at a loss on line trying to recover as much as possible.
Not quite a color match but it will work. So far feels comfortable. I can tell a definite positive difference and change in position. I will take her out in the morning and give a better update.
The seat looks ok to me and I understand your concern about the colour match but!! if your getting more comfort and you are happy with it.That is all that matters , you may be able to get some die to bring it closer to the bags or the other way around. Meanwhile I would be just enjoying the comfort .
OP, i would look into wiping some darker brown streaks, with leather dye, on your original leathers... try the backside of the bag and see if you can blend it a little more.
Looks pretty damn close in color. I always put comfort as one of my top priorities. With that close of a color match, I'd live wit it. But as others have posted, you can still try to even out the color more.
So rode a total of about 50 miles to and from work. The seat is firm but comfortable. I found that I wasn’t forcing myself back constantly like the stock seat even after the mod I had done. I feel like I’m on a sofa seat and it helps absorb bumps and what not on the road. I wish that it sat me back at an angle just a little bit more but it’s not enough to dislike it. I like the backrest and yes the stock Indian backrest will fit and work just fine. I also wish it was a hair softer or had a gel pad / memory foam combo but it may just require my fat arse sitting on it for a few miles. So all in all on this short ride much much better than the stock seat and with a 14 day trial I would recommend a tryout.
You'll be much happier after you do a 2-300 mile run. The softer seats tend to compress and feel hard after 100 miles. The firmer seat will still have some give.
Ya know, in all honesty looking at these close up photos, I like the color of the Ultimates better then the stock tan on the Indian saddlebags. Just my opinion,,.
I think it looks pretty good--if someone weren't looking for the difference they would never notice it. I have had an Ultimate about two years, it will conform just a little to your behind, but it doesn't get mushy. I would say mine is more comfortable than it was when I bought it.
