Some people have already explained how to do this but I still can’t get it off. Someone mentioned a cap that pops off, I don’t seem to have a cap on my ‘17

That’s too funny a thread as I thought I was the only one not needing or using my brakes and dragging me feet without the pegs. Caprig you are not alone. Hence drop a gear and disappear! The bike looks so much cleaner too!
