I bought my 2017 Springfield at the end of June in 2017. I never had a cruiser before. I fell in love with the styling of the bike. I still think it is the most beautiful bike I have owned, but as the years have passed, the weight of it is starting to get to this old man. The new 2023 Moto-Guzzi V100 Mandello sure looks good and is tempting me. I would have to let go of the Springfield in order to be able to buy it though.

Bought my '14 in January '15. Added paint, bags, different seat w/ backrest(s), mustache bar, reduced reach handlebars, Buffalo air horn, trailer hitch and wire harness. No upgrades, different pipes or engine upgrades. 55,000+ miles later I just got it back from it's annual/semi-annual checkup. Needed a new clutch cable as the new bars left no adjustment available. Oil change and a few different pairs of tires and still riding. Guess I'm easy to please!

Hi all I have owned my 2015 scout from new and had no issues. 26,000 miles of awesome riding all around New Zealand home of Burt and the fastest indian. Recently I have been fixing up a triumph tiger 1050 that had a wee accident, then rode it for 6km and had to decide do I keep indian or triumph and answer was indian all the way .

As a fairly new proud owner of a super chief limited and a road master limited, I was wondering if some of the long time members on this site could talk about how long they have owned an Indian Bike. Curious if any families have 100 year old bikes or older which are still in use or restored?

I plan on keeping my collection long term and will enjoy every mile I can! I only wished I lived in a warm climate 365 days a year!!

Thanks for any input on this topic.
First owned a 2017 Chieftain Limited bought brand new in 2017. After 84,000 miles (and no problems except a couple of recalls), my wife surprised me with a 2021 Roadmaster. She has her own bike. She started with a 2014 Chief Vintage and then traded up to a 2018 Chieftain Limited. Last year on June 5th, she bought a 2020 Chieftain Limited Elite with 495 miles. When we put them up end of October (Michigan gets cold), she had over 25,000 miles on her. Yes we love our bikes, love to ride, love the Indian brand.

I feel the Indian brand is superior. I have a 2016 Indian chieftain with 58K miles
My experience is the Indian Thunderstrike 111 engine is rock solid engineering.
I have enjoyed zero break down issues with my bike and suffered just the routine maintenance as listed in the manual.
I vary from the manual only a bit. I choose to do 4K oil change intervals with non-Indian oil. I use the K&N washable air filter, and replace brake pads every winter(apx 12K), replace brake fluid every winter, replace tires whenever needed (which for Metzler 888 is about every 14K), and I put in new spark plugs every other winter and battery every 2-3 years.
As for all other maintenance tasks, Every other late winter (Feb/Mar) I rent a community motorcycle bay for a month ($150) the rental gives you unlimited access to every tool in the shop and access to the skilled community who have done your type of tasks on their bike. Everyone is willing to help you as needed in your tasks, you in turn are to help others as needed. Over the years I have installed a new clutch, clutch cable, drivebelt, fork oil/bushings/seals, monoshock, whatever. I use Adam's Graphene coating on the paint (lasts 2 years), wash with any brand of SiO2 soaps so paint and chrome stay shiny and use a SiO2 detail spray. I find that with the above even after a ride in the rain (which I do often) one can make bike look near show-room new with simply a hose-end driveway wash, leafblower dry and 10 min with the SiO2 spray.

I know my bike's has blemishes but the casual observer usually wont see them.
My intent is to drive this bike for another 58K. I feel I am not alone in this assessment of Indian quality.
It so happens today I finished my every other-year maintenance tasks.
The enclosed pics were taken today. My plans are to keep this bike to beyond 100K miles.
