As a fairly new proud owner of a super chief limited and a road master limited, I was wondering if some of the long time members on this site could talk about how long they have owned an Indian Bike. Curious if any families have 100 year old bikes or older which are still in use or restored?

I plan on keeping my collection long term and will enjoy every mile I can! I only wished I lived in a warm climate 365 days a year!!

Thanks for any input on this topic.
Every winter ❄ I have wished I lived further south, every summer I’m glad I live this far north ! On July 2nd of this year I will have owned my 2014 Chieftain for 9 years. I’ve had many motorcycles in 53 years of riding but I’ve had this one the longest because it’s been the best ! Larry

3 years in May. 22k miles on it. Was a still new 2019 Roadmaster, I got in 2020. And about 6 months total time I haven't been able to ride it due to work travel, and leave trips from work, too. But it's the best decision I ever made! Love it! My old Honda VTX didn't owe me anything and never left me stranded and was an awesome bike, but it's just not a fair comparison to this one!

Howdy Folks,
I've been riding since 1971 and worked on a couple of Springfield Indians during the years I owned a bike shop. The 1st and only Indian I have owned was Chieftain #873, which I picked up in El Paso in late January 2014. I have put 84,000 miles on the bike since then. I joined this forum shortly after purchasing #873 because I wanted to share the experience of riding a new Polaris Indian with other enthusiasts, and my experiences posting here have been rewarding. Chieftain #873 has been the most reliable bike I ever owned.

Sadly, I'll soon be saying farewell to Chieftain #873. The 800+ lbs. has become too much for my aging and patched-together legs to manage any longer. I already have a Moto Guzzi/Ural sidecar outfit I can still ride, so I'm passing the Chieftain along to my nephew. He owned a 1st-year Scout but sold it when he moved from Florida to Northern Virginia several years ago. He and his wife have been caring for my aged mother for several years, and I wanted to express my thanks. He'll take good care of the bike just like he's been taking good care of his Grandma.

I will continue to visit the site regularly and will post when I have something to offer. I remain interested in seeing what Polaris does with Indian Motorcycles. And I will continue riding the Moto Guzzi/Ural rig for as long as I can.

I took ownership of my 2014 Vintage (#942) in the fall of 2013 (I think October). I purchased my 2015 RM in September of 2015. Bought a new old stock 2017 Springfield in 2019 and picked up my 2021 Challenger in April of 2021. Still own the Challenger and the RM, but have let the others move on to other owners.
