Weather is getting crappy here out East, spending more time on this site than on my Chieftain. So who has the most miles on their Indian?

Mother Nature is going to make me quit riding for this year fairly soon, but I don’t mind so much after all I do live in Minnesota ! Riding till December means it was a long riding season, and for that I’m grateful. My 14 Chieftain still runs great and here’s the current mileage. Larry

That’s a great looking bike you have and you’re getting some good miles on that touring rocket ! Ride safe Bird Dog and it sure looks like you take good care of it ! Larry
Thank you. I do like this bike a lot.

Yep the door is closing quick... I did get her out for about 30 miles today though, and you can't say that every year around here.

So close to 10k, a couple more days is all I need!

Larry, what is the repairs & service history?
Was the engine ever rebuilt or replaced?

I get asked this question frequently by everyone and for good reason, most riders have the same basic power train. I’m not very good in knowing how to give you the link, but I can tell you in posts 26 & 27 of the thread, Highest Mileage- Longevity, will give you a general summary. The engine and transmission are stock and have not been touched. Hope this helps you ! Larry Swenson

I think Larry must have his bike on a treadmill in the garage. Hope I get to put half that many miles on my bike.
Raise the bar!

Yes needed a signal light switch (but Polaris only sells entire left handlebar assembly)🤬 $1600 repair!
- last summer bike was in shop for 4 weeks - couldn’t get part through Polaris- Delphi connector for voltage regulator- so I got it home and soldered the wires myself and it’s been fine. I still managed to ride 32,000 km/19,883 miles though

I’ve done the soldering thing myself before in a similar situation,,,,,, like trying to sell me a wiring harness when all I needed was a plug.

8 years have gone by now since I purchased my 2014 Chieftain on July 2nd, 2014,,,,,,,,,,,time sure goes by fast when you can enjoy what you’re doing. Here’s an odometer pic that’s just fun to look at ; had this been a mechanical odometer I’m sure it would have broken by now. I’m a little surprised that this digital odometer hasn’t malfunctioned after all that counting ! Stay safe everyone so you can ride again,,,,,,, Larry
