I recently moved the factory to a beautiful piece of property in the South East Georgia woods. We are 4 miles from Florida and 25 miles from the ocean. I built a new metal building and set it up to build the Thunder Works parts. My house is 65 yards from the shop. "Frank" the giant channel catfish lives in a clear water pond in front of the house. It is a dream for me. The move took all of my money. Then, I just went to register my vehicles in Georgia. I found out that when you move here they apply a 7%+ tax to the value of each vehicle. Between all of my vehicles I have to pay $6500 just to get Georgia tags and be legal. I just paid sales tax in South Carolina last year when I bought everything new. So if you want to sponsor a poor American manufacturer, it only cost $1 per day. Or go to www.IndianAftermarket.com and find something you really need or make a charity purchase. Helping one manufacturer to survive is a brave American thing to do. Everyone that buys in the next 30 days will get a small vial of my tears of gratitude. I love you guys.

That sucks. Would have warned you had I known you were moving to GA from another state. They passed that racket of a bill a few years back. Everyone thought it was great because it got rid of the annual ad valorem tax, but no one actually read the bill...

I'm actually from SE GA (live in Atlanta now). Sounds like you're in Charlton, Ware, or Clinch County?

When I was in Calif., some people there would register their vehicles in Oregon. All you need is an address. Could you consider something like that until the you are over the hump?
This is the type of over taxation BS that drives people out of a state. I left Calif because of the mess they are in.

I'll be damned if i'd do it! Don't you have anyone behind in Florida, or another state that'll let you use their address? What about a P.O. box in Fla? Lots of people here in PA use Ohio addresses and boxes to get aound PA bullcrap. PA doesn't have your tax or other state's "property" tax on vehicles but we have high insurance rates and annual inspections. Feel free to use my address anytime.

I thought you could register any vehicle in Florida whether you live there or not. Have meet a couple of people that did this. Then again, I'm sure the lying thieves we have for government representatives (locals to the feds) probably have some way to still charge the tax. Feel bad for you. Government is going broke everywhere and figuring out all kinds of ways to rob us. God help us when we go cashless and our entire life is digital.

AZ does something similar with vehicle registration. It was a shock when I went to register my wife's new car as well as when I bought the RM.

Boy that is a kick in the balls....I just moved here. My registration is good in California until January. I will keep it there until then. Actually, I may renew it in Ca., it is less expensive. SCREW THEM. I already paid taxes on it and am not going to be held up for more..........

No they do not. Their license fees are high. Not a sales tax. There is no sales tax in AZ on a private sale. My 2014 classic was $42 in FL so I keep FL Tags on it. AZ was $488 the first year then drops every year until it hits $25 for a 10 yr old bike. My vintages are all $25 in AZ......so are the Suzukis. AZ is 2.5% of a new vehicle base price the first yr only.
AZ makes you get mandatory insurance and FL does not require motorcycle insurance.
New cars only in FL........must pay a new plate fee if $200 each unless you have one to transfer.
Bikes exempt

Never said it was a sales tax...I said AZ does something similar (meaning high fees). It certainly was a shock to me when I moved from NM to here and went to register my vehicles. The fees are outrageous and as you point out, they keep them coming year after year.

Your prices are way out of line and shame on you for charging shipping on everything. I know your small, but there are too many good options for parts out there. Good Luck!

Ha ha...there is no "free" shipping. Even vendors that offer free shipping really don't - it's calculated into the cost of the product.
