I always carry mine, its no big deal really, but its a real big pain if it was stolen - somewhere to put your gloves
Interestingly enough, it's even less of a big deal to leave than it is to carry it around and very unlikely that it will be stolen. Oh, and I leave my gloves in the top of the fairing, right under the windshield. Although sometimes I just fold up my gloves and keep one in each side-pocket of my vest.I always carry mine, its no big deal really, but its a real big pain if it was stolen - somewhere to put your gloves
Hi, hear what you are saying, even more unlikely that it will be stolen is to lock it onto the bike or carry it. I suppose everyone is different.Interestingly enough, it's even less of a big deal to leave than it is to carry it around and very unlikely that it will be stolen. I cannot disagree with anything you said.Hi, hear what you are saying, even more unlikely that it will be stolen is to lock it onto the bike or carry it. I suppose everyone is different.
No. I don't leave my helmet on the bike!!!!
I think that this pretty much sums up this topic . . . .I have always left the helmet on the bike unlocked. I either drape a doorag over the Sena or take the Sen with me.
Yes. I had one stolen way back in the seventies. I also had more than one leather jacket stolen. Now I lock the helmets through the D rings to the luggage rack with a cable lock. Of course, someone could cut the D ring strap and take the helmet, which is why I remove the intercoms and put them in my pockets.A friend recommended I remove the trunk from my RM to drop the weight and improve slow speed and off-the-kickstand mobility as we discussed my back issues. It makes sense since I ride solo, and I only use the trunk these days to store my helmet during restroom stops. I've never left my helmet on my bikes because of possible theft but my friend and my dealer told me that they have never heard of a helmet being stolen from a bike at rallies, service stations, etc.
Do any of you leave your helmets? Thanks.
I carry one of those rubbered cable locks you get when you buy a new gun and if worried I just lock it to the crash bar.(1/2-3/4) Have to cut the strap to get it off and then it's worthless. Full face/modular cable thru helmet. Been times I didn't think it would need it, but why temp someone when it's less than a minute to secure it.A friend recommended I remove the trunk from my RM to drop the weight and improve slow speed and off-the-kickstand mobility as we discussed my back issues. I saw that video, and that was a bunch of shit.As long as you can hear well enough to hear someone addressing you....
I watched some anti-cop Reel on Social Media, saying the Police were all wrong responding to a Walmart call for help for a suspicious and dangerous looking customer.
It was a biker that went into walmart dressed in full bike gear, all black, with a full faced hemet he kept on with the visor down, and had his bluetooth playing music in the helmet. The video showed the store manager following him around through the whole store talking to him, but he never acknowledges him once. The cops arrive, stop the guy, question him and let him go on his way. The point of the video was this was all the Cops fault, they had no right even stopping him. I'm like, did they watch the same video I just watched? The guy's actions were suspicious, him being to oblivious and impolite to realize how menacing he appeared was not everyone else's fault.
Sorry folks, now a days, if you walk into a large public area, covered in black protective equipment head to toe, helmet on, face hidden and shielded then fail to acknowledge people addressing you, you are going to alarm people. Its that simple, take your helmet off, or at least like EvilMonkey, pull up the face guard so people can see your face and acknowledge people when they address you. If you have your ear plugs in or music playing in your ear to the point you can't hear people obviously talking to you, that's your fault, not theirs's.
Yes most of the time i leave it on bike sometimes if i don't like the area I'll take it in a restaurant. Ove never heard of helmet theft either. Gas cap in five minutes yes....don't ask how i knowA friend recommended I remove the trunk from my RM to drop the weight and improve slow speed and off-the-kickstand mobility as we discussed my back issues. Mopeds… they are required to wear a helmet. The only helmet I’ve ever had stolen was locked to the bike and in my carport - Lock & t-bar were still there. Musta cut the d-rings off. Anyway I carry a couple of those free gun safety locks and lock our helmets to the crash bars. Not worried about other bikers. Just don’t want to tempt that kid who thinks he needs to look cool on his tricycle.
Not in Indiana unless under ageMopeds… they are required to wear a helmet.

Yep, therm’s the critters… underage moped riders. I had two helmets locked to my bike at the fireworks back in the ‘80s, and they cut the straps and took the helmets. Not in Indiana unless under age
I got the lid lox that mounts on the handlebar for my 2017 chieftain. Lid lox is the brand. I think it was $47 or soMy old one yes. My brand new $800 no. I have never had a helmet this expensive before, and all it takes is 1 person and it will be gone. I either use my trunk or if on my sportbike I carry with me.
