Front Turn Signals into running lights?

Does anyone knows a manufactory or got a solution, how to turn the front turn signals/blinkers into running lights?

I know/learned, that NAMZ Custom Cycle products sells a plug-n-play module for the 111 cui models, but not for the Scout models.

Any ideas ? Would like to help a buddy with his Scout......

To start, you will probably have to have a two-element bulb installed upfront.
I'm sure there must be a run around that uses only a one-element bulb, but I have not heard of it yet!
I'll be listening in! :)

:ROFLMAO: No bulbs. LED and also Can-Bus like the 111cui models....
If it would be a bulb, that would be the easiest thing in the world for me.

I wondered about this before and found out all it really takes is a resistor to lower power (always on) and diode to control voltage feedback during full power.

I just now found something called Blinker Genie that uses full power until the signal is used, at which time the light goes off.

Thanks for that info, but as far as I know, those won't work on the Scouts. Why? It looks like, that the scouts don't use that :

ONLY functions with a Negative Common Ground System (most common)

A lot of problems with changing to different turn signals over here due to not have this common ground thing on the Scout.

So any other ideas ?

Sorry, it’s the first I’ve heard of that.

Okay, maybe I explained it wrong.

For Sure hot the Scout the common/normal ground, BUT the main difference is, normally those blinkers/turn signals are plus/positive switched and ground is constant. It looks, that on the Scouts, they are switched ground site. So complete the opposite of the standard.

That's why the common modules won't work.

Sven,

Get in touch with Detlef Achterberg at Wunderkind / AMB

I picked up the front signals from him a few weeks ago. I won't be installing them until my fork lowers come back from powder coating, so I can't say for certain that they will remain on as running lights but for sure he can tell you if it will work with the European wiring set-up.

All the best and a Happy New Year

@TPcreeper :

Thanks for info, will talk with them in the new year, but I assume, they won't light up as running lights. Why? Cauz it is not allowed in germany. Okay, not allowed doesn't mean, we don't do that. Done it on my Roadmaster and for the TĂśV, I just unplug the module.

@Ridin_low :

Also thanks, but 1. assume those turn signals are not ece approved, which is mandatory here and 2. the distance between left and right may be too small to be legal here too.

@ All :
Best would be a plug-n-play module similar like the one for the Roadmaster/Chieftain models.

Makes sense, Detlef shipped them with some kind of module in the package. I assumed it it had something to do with EU regulations . It looks like an intensifier module, the same as we us here to adapt the bobbers OGM rear signals to accept aftermarket 2 wire LED lights for use as run/stop/turn.

Be aware if you go this route that you will need to drop your tubes out of the triples to install them as they are machines to slide over your tubes.

They make top shelf parts. Between AMB and Free Spirit I've dropped 3000 euro on their Bobber parts this fall.

Can't wait for spring to arrive so I can roll it out of the shop.

The ProBeams (Custom Dynamics) are expensive, but also very awesome. I put them on the rear and now have added running lights as well as high intensity signals. For me, just switching the fronts to LED was enough (Amazon.com... and only $16).

Custom Dynamics now sells Probeam Dynamic Ringz Front LED Turn Signals for Indian Scout, they cost $189.95. You replace the stock turn signals housing and all with either chrome or black housings. It is plug and play with an outer ring of 24 white LEDs and inner ring of 12 orange LEDs. The white lights function as running lights and turn off when the orange turn signals are activated. If these were available in 2016 when I got my Scout, I

would have put them on. Instead I put on some Kuryakyn (no longer available) with a relay.
