Fellow Indian riders. Looking for some honest opinions regarding Freedom exhaust systems. I'm looking at adding a Vintage to my stable and have questions regarding some of the options regarding Freedom exhaust systems. My RM has the Vance and Hines Turndown mufflers and I love the deep rumble I get with them but I am looking doing more of a "old school" Vintage bike and love the look of the shark fin exhaust tips. Don't care for the factory shark fin tips much but debating on the two options at Freedom. Here is the first
The second is the full dual exhaust with the 2.5 inch pipes.
The bike I am looking at already has the true dual headers with the regular 4 inch mufflers. Will the top option work with the dual header design? The Freedom site states that the 2.5 inch shark fin pipes only work with the Freedom headers. So I am a bit confused on what will work on what. For those with either of these designs how do you like them. How is the exhaust note, any tinney note to the sound.
Ultimately I was planning on doing the full dual header with 2.5 inch shark fin pipes as shown in the lower pic and I know I will take a small hit on performance. I'm going to throw a set of stage 3 cams in it and change out the valve springs. I know I can get a PV3 tune for this set up with AFR tuned for the different exhaust lengths and these cams. Needless to say I am not looking for all out performance but love the aggressive lopey idle that the stage 3 cams provide but I just don't want to sacrifice the sound of the bike just for the look. That is why I am thinking about both the 4 inch and 2.5 inch pipes. I look forward to everyone's input on this. Thanks, Dean
