Here is a great video from an experienced rider that had the front end shimmy and the way in which they corrected it. Dean

I really enjoy Roberts videos. I have a bad left knee and experienced alot of pain mounting/dismounting until I watched his video about doing it on the right side. It took a little time to get used to but it is so much easier and, no more knee pain.
Note: I actually had a guy at a gas station inform me I was getting on/off the wrong side so I had to refer him to Roberts video :)

We have seen this on my wife’s Challenger and a friends Pursuit.

My factory tires were perfect, I replaced them myself and now I get a little of front end wobble at 35-45 then it goes away. I just got the tires through a website, I wonder if I can submit directly to metzler on the issue.

It would be very interesting to see what the issue with the tires is. Chances are there is not anything that can been seen on the tire. Dean

I think this is correct. The tire looks fine and you can only find the problem after you mount it and ride it find out.

I don't seem to have the problem, but I almost always put it on the tender. I have followed this discussion with interest though. A day or two ago, I was thinking about what would cause the modem to stay online now and then. I haven't tested this theory, but I bet it has something to do with software and map updates via modem. Maps are huge files, the software is big and would take a long time to download with a marginal connection like folks would have in a garage or parking lot. There is a setting in the ride command web app. I haven't looked for it on the bike. Mine has always been to use a USB. Just a thought.

I saw this video while doing my "research" on the wobbles. He explained it very well. Indian explained they are aware of the issue too. I was concerned on how they could sell me a bike with this known issue but they didn't divulge how many people had this issue after a sale. It would seem that one would be enough for them to fix a problem instead of waiting for someone to die before they decide to recall. The more I ponder this issue the more I think I may need to lawyer up.

I think a big issue here is not every Challenger or Pursuit does this wobble. I do think some of this might be related to the loading on the front tire also. Might help explain where this is more on the Pursuit than the Challenger issue. Who knows. That is where knowing what the tire issue was might help explain this problem better but I doubt that info will ever get to the public. It is a bad deal but I wonder if a different tire manufacturer might be a better answer on this. Only problem with that is if this is handled as a warranty issue they will only put the original vendor tire back on the bike. I feel your pain and hope this gets resolved to your satisfaction. We all love our Indian here and hate to see anyone have issues like you are seeing. Hoping for the best! Dean
