You will get better fuel mileage with E0 fuel for example when I was younger my dad had a drag car that he switched from gas to alcohol. It would take roughly 2 gallons of fuel to make one 1/4 mile pass and 4 gallons on the alcohol. The other things about ethanol is that it is drying but also attracts moisture in to the fuel.
Wonder if 90 pure would be as good or better as 93 corn?????
Has been better for me, and my Carbed Dyna is 11:1 Compression with Andrews TW21 Cams .. Basically Ethanol is what is used to raise the Octane on 10% Ethanol Gas .. Carburetors hate Ethanol regardless ..

I was cruising around the lake of the ozarks this weekend and stopped for some gas. Local stations had premium ethanol free fuel for the same price, so I figured I would give it a try. I've burnt 4 tanks of it in the last 24 hours with noticeably less engine heat and improved fuel economy, or perhaps it was all placebo effect. If it matters 2016 RM with full stage 1.
I have a 2016 Scout ABS with 12K on the clock. I can count on one had the number of times I've put ethanol in it. I typically get 135+ miles per tank before the idiot light comes on. IIRC, most Scout riders get that light around 115. You read that correctly; I've filled with ethanol gas 5 times.

I live near the Lake and our town has 3 stations that have ethanol free 93 octane. Just as good as 91 and same price. Hope you enjoyed your cruise around the Lake.
Same here. I live on a river that leads to Oneida Lake in central NY. All three gas stations in town have corn free, but it's 91, not 93. I run the corn free in all my gas engines with the exception of my 2016 Chebby truck. Truck doesn't seem to care what it eats LOL.

Ethanol free gets about 20% better has mileage. That is why ethanol fuel is about 20% less at pumps for cost.
E-85 here is a pretty static price. I dont EVER use it in my flex fuel Tundra. Even when Regular dips close to it in price it stays about the same, at least around here.

My scout seems to run a lot better on non ethanol fuel. I have a station about a mile from my house that has non ethanol 90. That is about all I use in it. I ran one tank of ethanol 93 in it and it sounded quieter but it did not to seem to have as much horse power.

The ethanol fuel will run cooler that is the nature of ethanol/alcohol fuels.

Except... By their Chemical make-up, Alcohol fuels are Leaner. much leaner. Try running methanol in a carbureted vehicle without a jet change...
on any gasoline engine, lean = hot... while a richer mixture = cooler running...

I run ethanol free in all my lawn care equipment and its readily available here in GA. But I stick to premium in my Bobber and Harley.

Alcohol fuels actually require a much richer air/fuel ratio than gasoline.

I'm pretty sure that is what I already said...

Alcohol fuels run leaner... hence require a fatter jet to run...
why alcohol fuels run Hotter... because they are leaner... unless you rejet [richen the mixture]
How do injected systems recognize alcohol???? IDK
Betting the engine simply generate more heat... as the EPA would Not stand for a Richer Mixture!!!!

I use an app on my Iphone called "Pure Gas." All you do is allow it to know your location and it lists all the surrounding stations that have pure gas. It will even route you to a station via the Apple maps app if you simply push the location you'd like to go to. I've got 2 stations within 3 miles of me and a dozen within 10 miles. The hard part is finding the correct pump when you get to the station. Problem solved.

I can get 93 with 10% or ethanol free 91. What would you put in a 116? Dealer said stick to the 93 so that’s what I’ve been doing.

Is ethanol free hard to find? That's all I run in my bike and I never seem to have trouble finding it..
I live in Minnesota (corn belt) and non-oxy is everywhere.

Ethynol fuel is something that was pushed down our throats by your friendly EPA back in the early 60's whether we wanted it or not. Why?? Because the EPA claims it's better for the environment by cleaning up the air we breathe, hence it costs more then regular gas, yet doesn't give ya the fuel mileage conventional gas did.And this all started in California back in the middle 60's by a bunch of crooked politicians who got rich off of this Ethynol.[Explain how ya get cleaner air when you're burning more gas, hence less gas mileage].And then, because there's no lead used in it,which is what lubes the valve guides and rings, they wear prematurely hence ya now also burn alittle more oil too.[so again, explain how ya get cleaner air when the motor is now also using oil???] And since I have rebuilt a motor or two,, over my 60 some odd years in this business,I've seen this!!
There are very few gas stations around the lower three New England States,if any, where regular gas is still available. However,if ya drive way up north into Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont, there were still a few gas stations that sold regular fuel !!
Anyways, what I now do to help control the valve guide and upper cylinder wear,is periodically add a couple oz. of Marvel Mystery oil to my gas which lubes my top end so those components do NO wear prematurely!! But that's me,and as you guys should know by now,I'm NOT TOO BRIGHT!!!:confused::confused::confused:

The Casey stations at Winfield and Elsberry have alcohol free...probably Troy also.
Thanks Bob, I'll check it out in Troy. Good seeing you yesterday.
