I have a 2014 Indian chief classic
I accidentally touched the ECM to the battery terminals and it sparked
now my bike won’t start
I’ve checked the battery and all fuses and they are working
is there a way I can test the ECM to see if it’s Dead before I buy a new one ?
thanks
John

It's the vcm

Edit
If you dont have the keybfob programming 5 digit number you'll have to buy another key fob as well

Can’t be repaired, yes, you need a new one. No aftermarket I’m aware of. Indian dealer only. I know what your stimulus check will be spent on. Hope you get it going soon.

Look on EBay, the 2014 ECM had a recall for faulty pins so if you get a replacement go for a 2015 or above.

I did the same thing, ran a ground, lights up and runs, How do I replace the ground?
The ground pin is broken (or blown in half if incorrectly jump started or shorted to the battery). Youll need to open the ECM up and solder it back together or have someone do it. It comes apart fairly easily.

I ran mine for a year or so with the case ground wired though.

You are not the first to do this and certainly won't be the last, if you get a new one you will need a dealer to set it up and as mentioned program a new fob to it.
