I mounted a US Flag on my antenna as many others have done. The problem for me was at speeds above 40 mph, the drag of the flag pulled the antenna mount down towards the road. Fortunately, it did not pull it far enough to touch the ground.

I popped the right bag off and checked the tightness of the bracket. No matter how tight, it was still able to move. I added a black zip tie near the base and problem solved.

That's exactly what I did for my flag. Works great.

How funny, just today, I noticed my antenna towards the floor, and thought broke it broke already, then realized it's on a swivel, I had nothing on it, so it must move a little to easy.

My stock antenna got stuck under the garage door one day. The door caught the antenna on the way down and the swivel just went down with it. That won't happen with the shorty antenna I put on, but I won't be mounting a flag on it either.
