We went to a church dinner in Festina , Iowa . Got caught in a bit of rain on the way up . Food was very good . They have a pretty neat set up to cook the chicken . Walked around the church cemetery , many old markers . A few church members wanted to talk about my bike as we were getting ready to leave . Stopped at a small classic car show in Fayette , Iowa . That's my bike hiding behind the Mustang .A good day for us .

400 mile day and made it to Miles City Montana! Only about 54 degrees pulling into town with a little drizzle but we were dressed warm. Low is 32 tonight so morning is going to be a little nippy!

Took a ride to the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Park, just outside Hodgenville, KY today. Not a long day, about 130 miles.
This is the "sinking" spring that furnished their water. The air temperature dropped about 15 degrees from outside to the spring at the bottom of the steps.
Nice temperatures, but I got caught in a couple of small showers later in the day.

You can use the shemagh to combat harsh weather conditions involving the sun, wind, and snow.
  • For direct sunlight, use it to minimize the chances of heat strokes, sunburns, and dehydration.
  • For strong wind, use it to regulate body heat and shield against debris, dirt, and dust.
  • For freezing snow, use it to counter frostbites, cover up bare skin, and keep warm.

We have been on the road since Friday morning. Spent Friday night in Montrose Co. we got in to Mexican Hat Utah Friday afternoon after riding through a rain and red dust storm for the last five miles. We had a great Steak dinner at the Swinging Steakhouse in Mexican Hat. I’ll try upload a few pictures when in get better internet.

Yesterday, we decided an afternoon on the road was needed. We did not make our intended circuit, but managed about 220 miles. Ate a great hambuger in Columbus TX. Judging from the food delivered around us, we will return to this grazing spot.

Checked the weather app before leaving and decided to change the route home. Heavy rain was in our path northward.
As we were mounting up, it started to rain. We were parked under a huge oak tree and I was watching the drops hit the street. I asked my wife if she wanted to gear up. Response: Nah... About 45 seconds later..... whoosh! It was pouring. She didn't need any more encouragement.

30 Miles down the road, we had to stop and strip out of the rain gear.
This is Texas. It can go from hot and sticky, to plesant, to wet, back to hot in a matter of hours, or miles. After sitting in the shade, when I pulled her bike into the garage it still registered 100F.

All weekend. Rode the bike to Chicago to trade it for a black and red Icon Roadmaster. Almost 24000 miles on the Burgandy RM, 1152 miles on the Icon when i picked it up. Made it 1500 miles in 22 hours so i can get the Bun Burner Gold, and made it there and back in under 72 hrs for the Saddle Sore 3000.
