It was 76° in mid-Missouri yesterday. Everybody was out on their bike, including me. Stopped at Harley store to get a gift for a friend, and the HD salesman
liked my bike, he went and got another to show him my bike. A group of HD riders pulled in and before most of them went into the store, they were asking (and taking pictures) about my bike. I get looks and questions about the bike most every time I ride. And my new fun begins next week, as I am changing the front fender and adding straps. I'll post pics when completed.

Just a lazy trip to pet shop (70 miles round trip) on cool but nice day in mid Missouri. As I was finishing my ride and pulled in to home town, decided a refreshment would be good. I hadn't even parked the bike and turned it off before someone had walked out of the establishment and asked if my bike was a Scout. We talked about it as his buddy had just bought a Dark Horse and now he was interested in Indian.

I did no where riding, maybe 40 miles, and stopped at local bike repair shop (no reason). As we were talking, a 2016 Dark Horse pulled up. A friend had been talking about it for a while, liked my bike (although it is a Scout) and said he was going to get it . No pics but blacked out most everything, to dark tinted windshield. Asked how he liked, although big smile said everything. and how many miles. He said 75 miles , which is the distance from dealer to where we were. Just brought Indian in the tribe.

Rode about $14 worth, out and about Lake of the Ozarks. All the money I had. Did get about 58mpg on my Scout 60. Also got it up to 100mph (oops) but the wind started blowing my boots off the pegs. Stopped at HD dealer (to buy a Coke) and there was a HD salesperson out front when I rode in.He looked at bike, then went inside. As I walked around outside looking at new/used bikes, I noticed salesman at window, with 2 other sales people, looking at my bike. When I went inside, none of them talked to me although the store was practically empty. Bought my coke and went back outside. Not a total loss, as HD riders coming up to store made positive comments and asked questions.

Put some ribs on for slow cook and realized I was out of BBQ sauce, so I got on bike instead of walking 4 blocks to grocery store, or driving truck (about 30 miles round trip) to better grocery store. I rode 95 miles to get to better grocery store for a bottle of Maull's BBQ sauce with onion bits. Nice ride around Lake of Ozarks.
By the way, the ribs were great.

Rode to Head Indian Motorcycle in Columbia, MO, (170 miles round trip) for their Father's Day fish fry. I thought they were having demo truck also, as that is what the mailed flyer said. they did have it, but on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. Not sure on the weekday logic, but the fish was good. Many Indian riders, beside other patrons, asked questions on my bike. My Scout next to nice paint job. On back fender also, full dreamcatcher and feathers (picture didn't turn out good)

4th of July weekend at Lake of the Ozarks. Crowded with tourists on main drag through town (I need to remember to bring a camera). Anyway riding was stop and go, but the number of people who stopped to stare at my bike didn't help traffic. I will have to stay home on busy days. I probably put on 50 miles.

It was a déjà vu experience from yesterday. A buddy got a new old Dyna, and wanted to ride to Lake of the Ozarks to show it to his girl friend wannabe. We parked in front of Leatherman's store and he went into wherever his girlfriend was working. I was going to sit on the bench in front of store for an experiment, since my bike was 4 ft from where I sat. A HD rider pulled in within minutes, and while he was taking his helmet off, he said nice bike about my Scout. We probably talked off and on for an hour. He is the HD mechanic at dealership near Union, MO. After the first 10 minutes, he went into store, and another HD Classic pulls up. He gets off and sits down before he asks if the Scout was mine.We talked for about 40 minutes, as the other rider comes out of store and us three old men sitting a bench watching the people in their summer clothes go by. Any way, beside the 2 HD riders, 17 more people walked by and made a comment or asked a question. I still had nice ride of about 75 miles.

Road nowhere in particular, missed call from one buddy who saw me ride by the Arby's where they met for a ride. Rode around and stopped at local MC gear store just to look at new stuff, talked to couple people about my bike and about to leave when I heard a nickname I don't generally hear. One of my old riding buddies just pulled in with new wife. Short background, I rode with him and former wife and another couple, sometimes other friends, but the 5 of us made several long trips and many day trips years ago. Anyway, his wife passed 4 years this Thanksgiving, and the other couple (even better friends, they both rode) he passed 2 months later. Thank kind of broke up the rides. He got remarried; she moved to ND. Hadn't seen him in couple years, so it was nice to talk for while.
Oh, back home, I stopped at W-M for couple items, and 3 people commented on the bike. It seems my bike is a novelty.
