Did you ride today

I thought it would be fun to read about our riding adventures.

I got out today and rode 54 miles on my Yamaha 850XS. The sky was blue and it was a warm 62 degrees afternoon, just right for the first ride of the year. The bike fired right up and ran like a champ no problems after sitting in the garage for 3 months. I buy my gas from a place that has 100% gas, no ethanol. I rode alone as I do most of the time. I have several routes, I call them laps, than I ride. Today's was on the river road run that is nice with a lot of curves and scenic views of the lake. The roads are all two lane and not very much traffic. The posted speed limits are 45 but on my bike 60 feels just right. Some of this is why I love to ride in the country; number of red lights 1, no. of cars I needed to pass 1, cars that passed me 0, cop cars 0, curves in the road many, smiles on my face - all the time. I didn't want to come home but the sun was going down and so was the temperature so I returned to my nest. I can't tell you how great that ride made me feel. Hell, I don't need to , you already know. Get busy riding my brothers and sisters and let's hear about it. Photos would be great too.

I did a short ride today, 130 miles through Northern Kentucky. I snapped this along the way in Williamstown where highways 36 and 25 join/split (depending on which direction you're heading).

It's my understanding this was the office for a gas station during the 50s and 60s.

Just under 270 miles today due to near-70 temperature. I rode w/ a friend was an '18 Ultra. We set off from Cincy, down US 42 to Louisville, KY for lunch at River Road BBQ (great food) and then over to Frankfort via US 60 (mostly) to Buffalo Trace Distillery. We got there about 40 mins before closing and were greeted with, "We're sold out of bourbon for the day." My buddy got the last bottle available for purchase out of the day's allotment. I picked up a couple bottles of Bourbon Cream (if you haven't tried it, buy 3 bottles, you'll thank me) and some vodka.

Thanks for sharing! These pics are the only thing that gets me through South Dakota winters!
I'll be in that situation in just a few weeks myself -checking out photos of others who live further south.
Got up to 60° F/15.6° C today so I got what will likely be my last ride of the calendar year, barring any more nice days. I bought the new to me '19 Springfield on September 21st and have been able to log 3,080 miles since.

Lovely day @ 55F. Rode about 130miles. Rode the AA Highway... only saw 3 other riders. Did kick on the heated grips on low as the sun set and the temp drop. Plan to ride to Tamarack in Beckley WV tomorrow.
I'm at the other end of the AA in Ft. Thomas and have ridden all the way to your end. It's a great ride and there are a few nice BBQ joints along the way.
Looks like you rode right by Alexandria. We’ll be spending New Year’s Eve there. I have a friend who converted from being a Buckeye to a Ky. by marriage.

Went right through Alexandria on the Double-A hwy. I live in Ft. Thomas and ride out to Alexandria quite often -it's a good jump point for several fun roads.
Jealous, low 30'sand snow.
What is "sand snow?" A beach blizzard?

Told myself I was going to ride every single day to work unless it's wet, snowing, icy, or the bike won't start. It was 18° this morning and it's supposed to be 16° in the morning. Good thing work is only 2.4 miles from the house.
I have an office in downtown Cincy, which has dedicated motorcycle parking on certain streets. I strongly considered riding in today since it was in the mid 40s. I decided against it (high winds) and as I approached my building, I could see a big box truck parked in the motorcycle spots. I was pissed and glad at the same time that I chose not to ride today.

NKY/Cincy area hit 50 degrees today so I got a short ride in while there was still sunlight. It was my real first cold(er) temp use of the heated RM seat I put on the bike. I really like the heat option, so much that I think I'm going to go ahead and get the heated grips now.

As a side note, I still don't know where the camera lens is on my phone and will continue to look cross-eyed in my selfies.

I had intended on taking a lot of photos but stopped only once for a photo:

-Fisher’s Travel Camp began operation in 1928, in Corinth, KY about the same time that U.S. Route 25 was being developed. The camp included cabins and a full service gas station. (Now closed)

Just a little over a hundred miles via some twisty scenic routes to Ashland, Ky. and back for a late lunch. Made it up to 76* today.
Lots of bikes out today and I actually saw 2 other Indians.
We must've crossed paths. I took US60 from Lexington to Ashland today.
We were just in Ashland long enough for a hamburger at Fat Patty’s then back across the bridge and headed to Gallipolis via Coal Grove.
Didn’t see your bike, definitely would’ve recognized it from some of your posts.
Saw a woman on a Chieftain. Very shiny silver, almost blindingly so in the sun. I believe it was an Elite model. And saw a guy on a Scout.

I was wondering if I had passed you at a gas station. I noticed two Scouts as I was rolling past. One was a Willow Green and Ivory, the other was a darker color scheme, red & black I believe. I didn't "glance" too long -you know how it is, gotta keep looking forward.

Next time I'm heading out that way, I'll give you a heads up. If you want to be added to the Forum Rider's Map, let me know and I'll get you on there. - Indian Riders Map - Google My Maps

Just like @Notaharley -I got a ride in yesterday before the snow, it was 60 degrees in the Northern Kentucky, at least for a few hours. Once I got back home, the cold front was coming and we ended up w/ about 1.5" of snow.

Looks like you were in the Kingfish parking lot. I live maybe 3 or so miles from there. After it warms up give me a heads up when you are gonna be that close again.
Yup, that's where I was. I was going to grab lunch @ River Road BBQ and saw the sign for Kingfish, et al and decided to give it a try since I've had the R.R. BBQ before. I need to remind myself that I cannot eat fried food and ride. I feel so terrible afterward, but those hushpuppies were great and couldn't resist.

Definitely will give you a heads up next time I'm heading that way. Cheers!

Kingfish....... great food!
Yeah -they need to warn people that their salads are built for two. They asked me if I wanted a box and had to tell them no. I just couldn't eat it all. I felt bad for wasting food.
