I have a pair that I really like and they fit great. I decided to order another pair since they had them on sale for 20% off. I was wondering how much protection they really have with just the kelvar in the knees and but of the jeans. Are most riding pants made this way?

I think the Tobaccos are the best riding jean. Much more protection and very comfortable and they look like a pair of Levis.

I've had a couple of pairs of diamond gusset jeans. For the money I think they're good. I've only road tested them once and that was more impact than slide. They held up well. My only criticism is that after a couple of years the seams start to wear. I just got rid of one pair because they had a hole just above the knee at the top seam of the kevlar reinforcement.
Knees and seat are generally the most common impact and slide zones from what I've read.
