Dark Horse - Gas Tank Sticker Removal
I saw this topic mentioned in a "Cleaning the Bike" thread and decided maybe a separate one specific to this would be good.
I was told to use no chemical cleaners of any kind on the matte black and then to remove that gas tank sticker before it gets baked on by the sun and heat.
I peeled the sticker slowly, very slowly and not much came off cleanly. Lots of sticky adhesive remained.
I found an article about using peanut butter to get the goo off.
So I used my finger with a little bit of peanut butter on it and slowly massaged the goo area. After a little while, the peanut butter started to melt and extract particles of goo.
I wiped this up with a damp cloth and started the whole process over again. Before I knew, no more sticky adhesive and the sticker was cleaned off.

Use hair dryer to warm up the sticker... It should peel right off. not too hot... you are dealing with gas tank here! 
While I heard some say had problems .. I have never had any problems with Heat (Hair Dryer) and Goo Gone ... Gloss paint, Matte, Whatever ..
I searched gas tank sticker and nothing came up. I have no friends.There are several other threads on this topic - some for the Dark horse. The "Search" button is your friend.

In the end, I bet you could analyze the ingredients in the peanut butter I used and it would match the Goof off I refused to use!While I heard some say had problems .. Goo Gone and Goof Off are Totally Different ....
I took mine off today. I used wd40 to get the left over adhesive off then used HD denim paint spray cleaner to get the wd40 residue off. Worked very well.
Used a very small bit of goo gone... I was amazed how much sticky adhesive was on there. Couldn't believe how hard the little sucker was to get off.
Then cleaned up the final result with windex...
