I have to agree with the above statement. If they can’t get parts due to back order. That’s Polaris who in that scenario really needs to step up the parts game in a huge way. Riders out there running cross country do not want to hear on vacation “sorry it’s on back order “ we can’t help you. That becomes a game changer it’s exactly why I left Victory. I know I’m a slow learner.
Still on the dealer. Good dealers and they are out their will make the effort to find the part whether they take it off a bike they have or check with other dealers. The lazy dealer will check stock in the system see a 0 and say it's back ordered and never check on the status.

The poor service rating of my local Indian dealer (Perth WestOz), and the only one within 2000 miles of me, is making me think twice about even buying the bike I want.
I've hear far far too many stories (some forum-told, some from the horse's mouth) about how they'll fawn all over you when you go in to buy the bike then ignore you and lie/make you wait/etc when you come back for service or warranty work.

They appear to be complete scumbags and the rider consensus is that this dealer needs the top level chopped off entirely and new management in place.

Too far to go to get to another dealer and you still have to deal with this DP (d!ckhead principal) for your warranty work (or what, train-freight the bike 2000 miles for warranty at the next dealer? No thanks)

I'm not the only one thinking like this too - they're losing customers left and right and don't seem to give a rat's arse.
So... I might end up not even owning an Indian... probably go for a Rocket 3 or a Vulcan Voyager or Vaquero.

And, let's be real here, the people from Polaris who might be in here are the low level peons (no offence there, I mean "powerless").
The people with the power to make changes I don't believe give a sh!t nor are likely to be in here.
Agree, very disapointing

Exactly why traded my Cross Country in on my CDH .. Was told No Drive Belts or Fuel Filters readily available .. Not going very far without either one ..

@JayFL459 Same here Jay. Leaving on a Friday for Cali last year. Sunday my voltage regulator goes south on me. I call Monday service says let me see if I can locate one for you. What ? You kidding me me it should be on a shelf in your parts room ! Well since they closed the doors were not really stocking those parts. Jay I called 4 dealers in 4 states same answer gives us your number we’ll see if we can locate one. Long story short they found one in ohio had it overnighted and got Bike Thursday nite BS ! Me and the wife left and all the way out and back kept thinking shit nothing else better go wrong uneasy feeling. We came home great trip 2 weeks later Chieftain in my Garage. I run coast to coast literally every season. I have no time for that BS. I always gave Harley that much. They are on every corner like McDonald’s lol and any time I had an issue. Parts in stock and back on the road same day. Shit I blew a top end going thru Denver and was on the road 2 days later. This is where Indian needs to be the essentials should be sitting on a shelf at all dealers.

Some dealers...not all of them, but some, will pull a part of a showroom bike if they can't get the part in soon enough.

As they should for someone traveling I’ve had it done for me by HD. And don’t misunderstand me I’m far from that person to jump up and yell YEAH HARLEYS GREAT I know better. Better but for parts and service while traveling this country they kick serious ass in this Department. A traveler in need of repairs becomes a # 1 priority in the shop.

To the OP, sorry about your circumstance. Thank you for your service.

I would not own another Indian. Thinking about selling mine. Support and service have been ruined what should be a great ownership experience. Certainly not something you would want when trying to rebuild a brand. My issues have been relatively minor and my bike is just now a year old.

Sadly, the issues we are seeing with Indian Dealers is not restricted to just Indian dealers. I hear stories like this all the time from many different dealers. Those of you who have great dealers in your areas, consider yourself very lucky. I don't know if it is just the industry situation as a whole or what, but dealers and manufacturers need to learn to take care of their customers.

Your not kidding about dealers, I was traveling with a car that was less than a year old through the mountains in the eastern US. I had a check engine light come on, pulled into a dealer to see what the code was, service guy looked at the out of state plates and said come back Tuesday were busy, this was a Thursday. I said I guess I should go to AutoZone and see what the issue is, guy said that's a good idea. Picked up the guys business card and left. Went to AutoZone bought a scanner cleared the code which was a nuisance, didn't like the altitude change and turbo running in high altitudes. Took a picture of the guys business card and left a review on the dealers Facebook page, that disappeared quickly and I was blocked from posting. I also posted it to Twitter and contacted GM opened up a service ticket and a complained with what happened, guy wanted to be an ass so can I.

@RSA thats the stuff that make people who tour especially, move in another direction. I love this Chieftain best bagger I’ve ever owned and I’m doing the East Coast West Coast thing in 4 weeks. And I’m keeping the faith as of now lol

If anyone is traveling to the northwest, you can rely on Pro Caliber Indian in Vancouver, Washington to get you back on the road. Twice they have pulled parts off bikes on the showroom floor to get my bike fixed and get me on my way. Once, I was having an LED headlight installed on my Vintage. My VCM wouldn't handle it, so they sold me a new VCM at their cost that they took of a new Roadmaster. The other time, they were out of sharktail tips for my stage one mufflers, and again they pulled those parts off a new bike on the floor.

That's why I drive 112 miles one way to have my bike serviced there, even though there is an Indian dealer in Salem that's 60 miles closer. I drive right by the Salem dealer on my way to Pro Caliber.

My point is, if it were me, I would remove my bike from that dealer in Pensacola and send it to a dealer with a better reputation. If the Pensacola dealer treats you this way now, they will treat you the same way if anything is wrong with their repair job.

Interesting what service you get from different dealers. My local dealer is good with service and parts and are always willing to support. As many have stated, I think phone calls to Polaris gets the ball rolling. Thanks for your service and I know well about the PCS moves especially when trying to transport your motorcycle. Hope they get you fixed quick.

I must be very lucky, I am only 50 miles from my dealer, Sturgis Indian, Randy in service always does his very best to accommodate my schedule and Wiley in parts is very knowledgeable and gets any parts ordered for me right away and it is always in stock for me to pickup in a couple days. Those 2 gentlemen are only a small sample of all the people in the dealership that do an outstanding job every day. I am very lucky.

I had a similar experience with a Ford Truck. Bought the truck from a dealer and then moved. Right before a family vacation was starting the truck had a problem. Went to the local dealer and the guy said because I didn't buy from them I wasn't a priority...they could get to it the following week, my vacation week. I ended up renting a car. Haven't owned a Ford since.
