Just happening to tinker with an old Indian head nickel I had lying around..........just put a dab of silicone on the back of the coin in the event that I need to remove and access this bolt to free up my gas tank cover. And with the coin being 90% silver, I don't need to worry about rust or pitting. And like most old Indian head nickels, the dates were the first to wear off the soft metal coin, so if someone tries to "hawk it", I don't really care....it's face value is $0.05. Numistmatic value is zero without a date!!!! Just a suggestion. I tried an Indian head penny....but it's too small for the opening and the copper didn't go well with my color scheme!!

I saw someone do that with one of the colored conchos and they glued a rare earth magnet to it so it would be easy to remove.
