I had a really cold trip on the weekend and after the night stop we all went to start and I found on starting up the horn kept blasting for the first 100 yards then the bike stopped. It started again after about a minute or so. Should I have not moved until warm? I had no problems after that.Temp was -3 degrees at the time.Ice is not usual where I come from in West Australia.

Seems like your fob didn't communicate with the bike on that particular start up.
There are no cold motor alarms I'm aware of. Temporary key fob interference is my bet.
