Got rid of the cheap plastic plate holder,replaced it with one from kuryakyn.removed the taillight housing cut off the plastic holder leaving the plate light,drilled 3 1/4 inch holes.total time 1 2/2 hours.and worth it.

Looks nice. I want to clean up that area as well. So was the black plate what you had to drill so the kuryakyn plate would bolt to it?
