My chassis fault light randomly comes and goes on my 2017 Scout Sixty. Bike runs perfectly. I've checked for tailight wiring issues but seems ok. I did put on aftermarket signals but light didn't start appearing until after thousands of miles. I have been ignoring the light but it is irksome.

Check your battery connections. They have a reputation for working loose. Make sure you also check where the negative lead attaches to the frame.

The canbus system is very sensitive to voltage variations and it only takes a millisecond to drop and then normalise again and it can throw a fault code.

I agree with Dr, Shifty, Check those grounds. A quarter inch turn can make all the difference...
