Just saw this posted by Lloydz on YouTube. I know we heard this about a year ago that Lloydz Challenger cams are “coming soon.” This is the latest update of “soon,” which is 2-3 months. We’ll see…

You know this is funny. Because who knows. Amanda said on Facebook last year that cams were enroute from New Zealand.

2020 Cams are comming!
2021 Cams are comming!
2022 Cams are comming
2023 cams are commning.

So far cams haven't cum yet................🤣

LOL! I have been in the waiting list forever!
A little perplexing to me-I’m certainly not a marketing guru, but at the end of the video Lloyd comments about getting ready to be bombarded with phone calls about the new cams. He then implores customers not to call the shop until the cams are here. If worried about being overrun with calls, why not wait until the cams are actually in hand, tested, and then announce it. Especially after the last time when customers were told “cams are coming,” and then they didn’t. JM2C.

Because this is low-level reverse psychology/sales tactics. It gives them the opportunity to sell callers something else when they call/email in, say, like a Lloyd's tune or other doo-dads that will work with the Challenger/Pursuit's current setup and will compliment the Lloyd's cams when they're shortly available. "Why not treat yourself twice?"

If it's not this intended tactic and they don't take advantage of the opportunity to create customers by people calling in, then they've miscalculated, made a poor decision, and should've just waited.
Put 500 people in the room, you're going to get 500 opinions.

There's literally SO many things in the world right now that are on back-order, slowed production, supplier of a supplier of a supplier with supplier issues... the list goes on. Being in the automotive industry myself, the whole covid thing still hasn't stopped. Our own production has slowed down because 1 of the big 3 I work for has had chip and semi-conductor issues... again. It's old new to everyone else, so old people think it can't be real. Well, it is still very real in our world.

Lloydz cams for Thunderstroke is old news, but they are a mainstream for Thunderstroke equipped bikes. 5 years from now, Lloyd'z cams for Challengers will be old news, and we will still be ordering them and putting them in our bikes, just like the Thunderstroke. The big picture is it has only been a year. The bike has only been out for 3 years. It's a drop in the bucket for what the future holds.

I was there when he announced it publicly which was just about 4 hours after making this video, and a few more after the video was posted. I shared the hell out of it cause even I was excited! If you know any of these folks and how much stress they have gone through just to provide this product and deal with BOTH ends, the customer and supplier, you may have a better understanding. But nobody wants to understand, they just want want want, lol. One may think it couldn't hurt just to make a quick phone call about the cams and see, but 700 other people are doing the same thing... in one week. There's more to Lloyd'z Garage than Challenger cams and they have to take care of those customers too.

Don't get me wrong, not making excuses for them, but people don't generally pay attention to the information that is already out there. People don't research like they used to. It's sad really.

It really doesn't matter if you believe them or not. They'll get here when they get here. They will be worth the wait. There's even more to it than what's in this video. Lloyd's been doing this thing next to Polaris/Victory/Indian for over 2 decades. There is a LOT to get excited about. Or don't... won't change how they market, won't change Lloyd wanting to make his customers happy with a new breed of performance baggers, setting Challengers to a new level. Ask me how I know. I've had Lloyd'z cams in a Challenger for a year, and it scares some people. This is a good thing for Challenger/Pursuit owners. Or... I guess they should just wait and not educate the customer on anything and keep their mouth shut. Great idea.

I’m very disappointed reading this especially from a few of you. There are online bullies when you don’t have something and when you do have something. We don’t talk poorly about a single person or thing yet people online feel the need to complain and be negative. There are thousands of outside factors that affect production and not a single customer hasn’t experienced in their work or personal life. Lloyd has changed the performance game entirely for Indian motorcycle (and victory) and wouldn’t release a product before its perfect. He is not God however and can’t make supply issues go away entirely… but ask yourself… why has no one else released cams for them? Instead of complaining shouldn’t you be excited for the future of Challenger performance? Shouldn’t you be rallying behind all of the awesome aftermarket companies that make this bike so cool to customize? I don’t usually respond to comments or forums like these, but where are your mamas? Lol

Well I’m not sure about the rest of us, but it’s all meant in jest. For the last 3 years all of our parts have been back ordered so you just have to laugh it off at this point. I think most folks will agree that Lloydz is the go to performance guy for our bikes, and I’m sure plenty of the complainers will be first in line for these cams whether they admit it or not. So keep pumping out the speed parts.👊

I further suspect that Lloydz wants to get a "feel" for the demand for these cams and what to tell his supplier in terms of how many to produce, timing/arrival of the cams, etc. Is this the same as "build it and they will come".....or in this case.....build them and they will buy!!!??!??! I had a "sour" taste with a recent Lloydz product.....I'm clearly going to wait a WHILE until this product gets into the marketplace to determine worth, performance, reliability AND value!!!!!

Will I be able to buy these and install myself or have my shop install along with your pipe and tune? In CA so not feasible to have you install….also will the process involve sending you the old cams to get the compression release off of them or are the new cams ready to drop in and ride?

She joined 3 days ago and one post. I do hope she comes back, I’ve met her once and she is a very nice person from my experience. And she is very busy with the dealership.

i hope so too, I would think the vast majority of challenger owners need these shipped vs being able to ride to them

You might want to go on Lloyd's website and look at some of his videos regarding the new engine. I believe the cam cover on top of the engine prevents installing these cams without dropping the motor. Dean

Thanks Dean, yeah I know it’s a decent amount of work, but definitely less work than riding across the country 😂
