f Polaris is struggling with accommodating "regular services", then they didn't speak with the service departments and run thru the metrics to figure out how many oil change kits they need to supply yearly
You've said this a couple of times - if it's based on anything I said, it's not a lack of goods, it's a massive demand for service, and I have a sample size of one. He did mention Harley was seeing the same surge, so who knows. It's fuсking hot out, and everybody's riding. Not much to do with China, or with Polaris - I doubt they have anything to do with day-to-day dealership service concerns; there is a requirement that they have at least one Indian-specialising tech on staff, but what, 95% of these places deal in more than one brand? They'd all be out of business if all they handled was Indian.

I guess I'm just in an industry where "no" isn't an option, I just have to find a way to make it happen.
It's adorable where you think that's an option in manufacturing.

Let's go Brandon!
This always makes me think of a five-year-old raging because he can't eat gummi bears for dinner, but hey, you do you.

How are you going to sit here in Q3 and tell me that because Q1 had bad sales Polaris can't be selling at rates higher than Q1? We've all heard the horror stories from earlier in the year and it seems that they are pushing full throttle to make quicker turnarounds comparatively than their poor performance.
I understand you're comparing last years Q1 to this years but then you go to say that because this years Q1 sucks Polaris' Q3 is performing bad? The stock doesn't say that at all.

You guys sound like you don't work manufacturing, business, or especially manufacturing business. But hey- I could be wrong!

I never mentioned anything about Q3.

This is from the Polaris website, and part of their Q2 earnings statement....

  • North America unit retail sales for Indian Motorcycle were down low-forties percent. North America unit retail
sales for the comparable motorcycle industry were down mid-twenties percent.

That statement would seem to contradict your early statement about how great they are doing comparatively.

Again....your plan English words were that sales were up, and so were savings. Wrong on both.

Showing me an EPS chart (which is not a stock price chart) for Polaris doesn't help either of your wrong statements about Indian Motorcycles, or personal savings rates.

I've worked in manufacturing for the last 27 years.

I could go on but I don't wish to derail this thread any further.

Not raging... having a little fun, I'm a moderate so love to piss off both sides; certainly rattled your cage :)

I think you're missing the context regarding manufacturing. I'm in commercial real estate, and manage several large buildings, I don't just walk up to clients and say "Oh whoops, sorry no parking lot today because we can't repair that pot hole, whoops sorry no paper towels during a pandemic, whoops sorry no soap, and we can't get new dispensers for anything because it's all a supply chain issue" Roflmao, I wonder what some of my Fortune 500 Co's would say to that. Hmmmm...

To further explicate my point... I wonder what would happen if people walked into a Ford/Chevy/Mazda etc. dealership and the dealer said "sorry we don't have oil for your vehicles, or filters etc." (this is a regular service... gotta be kidding me). You're probably the same individual that has an EV... and thinks that's free energy that materializes from the sky, ya know... in the ether. And think that EV means "green" despite all of the heavy metals and toxic batteries in the car, not to mention the stress on the electrical grid lmao.

Makes me chuckle that some people (yourself) just buckle when faced with adversity.

Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”

I find solutions, because performance is proof positive. Just different perspectives on life my friend...though I am jealous of your pampered perspectives.

Not really, you just sound retarded. I try not to take offense from children.

I'm in commercial real estate
Explains a lot. We'll just ignore your blatherings then, since you don't know how the real world works. You're equating not getting a bike to running out of soap? Seriously?

You know Polaris is a Fortune 500 company, right?

This from the guy crying because his bike's a week late after a three-month wait? Please. Sorry if I don't take historical manufacturing lessons from a janitor...

LMAO... wow you ARE angry aren't you. Sheesh, didn't realize you were taking this so seriously.

And Wow... a liberal using the word "retarded" in a derogatory fashion, aren't you folks supposed to be above such things? Actually as someone who spent a good portion of my life assisting children with disabilities, this does rub me the wrong way but hey, Freedom of Speech and such.

Oh yes, a lot of the high end security devices for doors, fancy electronic soap dispensers, construction materials such as lighting equipment, etc. all comes from China, yet here I sit watching a large commercial tower being built out around me. Cool stuff... I promise you Mr. Liberal, if you step outside your house for a few minutes, you'll see the rest of the world never really stopped, we all moved on and are working and living our lives; have to ya know, gotta make that cheddar.

Cool, yeah didn't know Polaris was a Fortune 500, would hope with that type of status they'd run a tighter ship?

Nope not crying about my bike, said that many times, (reading comprehension, it's not just for grade school kids anymore), I stated my concerns with "regular services" being delayed supposedly due to supply chain issues. Also stated my concerns with communications, and the "misinformation" I'd been given several times. I'll make fun of Trump now just for you... in my best Trump voice, the misinformation is "Sad... very very sad" lmao

EDIT: Can we go back to being friends and fellow bikers now... or are you gonna get butt hurt every time I make a Brandon joke? C'mon laugh a little... You're right I am a glorified janitor, makes me wonder why they pay me six-figures just to do so, but hey it affords me the time to sit here and have a conversation with you. Fun fun fun! Also I keep assuming you're of the male gender, please confirm you gender pronoun so I may address you properly; wanna make sure ya know.

I ordered my FTR Carbon on Jul 28. I recently received an update from Indian that the bike is scheduled to be built and the ship date is 9-15 to 9-30. Playing the waiting game...

Such a gem of coffee table wisdom...

roflmao... speaking of lamps... that's why I hung a lamp on that comment my friend.

I find it baffling, that you two got so incredibly triggered by "Let's Go Brandon!"... yet when it comes to a protected class, that truly can't defend itself, your buddy used a completely derogatory comment for persons with disabilities, as a personal attack, "retarded". You ignored it and tried to flip the table after a completely crass and classless comment like that, whereby your act of trying to maintain morally superiority falls woefully short.

Pot, meat kettle (with an inferiority complex that's looking for pier approval)

With that being said I'll tuck both of you in for the evening. "Good night and good luck" :)
