I've seen some threads talking about mini-apes on a Chief/Chief Bobber but not the Super Chief. I have a 22 Super Chief Limited. While I don't find them very uncomfortable, I've had a number of people tell me at random stops that I should consider raising the bars for comfort and/or using the reduce reach. I'm about 5'8" with shorter arms/legs and I like the Super Chief over how my Scout used to feel in terms of handlebar placement. Thinking the couple of extra inches may be helpful with one of these approaches. Also, just wondering how it looks on the Super Chief.

Thank you.

Don't listen to others unless of course they are responding to your complaint. 'Very' is the key word here and do you seek extra comfort? You lived with the Scout and by your admission the Super Chief is already better from a handlebar placement perspective. Cranking the existing bars rearwards even just a 1/2" will make a difference if this is practical? Simplicity of the task to me would be that risers would be the next step before committing to a handlebar swap out.

Mini apes and/or reduced reach could be the latest 'must haves' that you may 'not actually need.'

Good luck.

I appreciate the advice here about the risers. As a newbie, this isn't something I had considered or researched. Will do both and check it out. I am "slightly" uncomfortable so risers may be the trick I need. Thank you.

I did both risers and the reduced reach bars on mine. Install was fairly simple.

For anyone out there looking to put reduced reach bars on their chief, there’s some good news about the install. While you do need to use the mid control kit for the wiring harness, you don’t need it for the brake or clutch cables, the short kit that comes with the bike is long enough. Which means no brake bleeding 😃 I’m not technical minded but it took about 3 hours in total, main difficulty is getting the fuel tank off and on, and feeding wires through the ridiculously small wire tidy cage under the bars near the fork

Nevertheless, what is a shame is that Indian, in two years of existence of the new Chiefs, was unable to develop any pull back risers, that is a very basic must have for any custom bike model. Even worse is that you can not change the stock by an aftermarket kit.Two thumbs down Indian.
