I decided to change my foot controls to Kuryakyn's Spear series. Went to put on the brake control and the damn thing was milled wrong and when bolted in it is not aligned. From a distance no one would be able to tell but if I am going to pay what I believe is a premium price it should fit properly.

Has anyone else had issues with Kuryakyn parts? Wondering if it was a fluke and the next one will be alright or this is common.

A couple years ago, many who purchased the chrome speaker covers for the Chieftain found that the left cover wouldn't seat firmly and could pop off. It was unclear whether the issue was due to variance in the fairing mounting slots or variance in the location of the cover tabs. However, Kuryakyn stood up and backed their product. All it took was an e-mail to them and they shipped me a second set - no questions asked. Also, the issue seemed to quietly go away, so either Indian or Kuryakyn must have corrected the variability in their part.

I have their heat shields and also their heel shifter...
The heel shift is perfect... solidly made and quality all the way through. Works perfectly and does not get in the way because it runs under the floorboard. Couldn't be happier with that except for the price.
The heat shields are simple and effective... but the esthetics of more plastic on the Dark Horse is less than desirable. I think some of the other leather options might be superior.

I would return those defects and make them aware of your issues.

Several failures. Heel shifter on my Goldwing hung up. I opened up the pivot point to cure it.

Also had a highway peg break. Ever have your boot hit the interstate at 70+ mph? Its sporyt!

Both times I called and was told they had never heard of any one else having problems.

I still buy some of there stuff but i'm not a fan.

I installed a set of their highway pegs and mounts. They seem to be ok thus far with the exception of the spring washer used to maintain pressure to keep the pegs upright when not in use. Not enough tension and they constantly fall down.

The mounts, I had to run tap and chase each hole to clean up. Not a very high quality piece. At first glance they look solid. Looking closer they are a two piece hollow casting with shitty QC.
I emailed Kuryakyn including pictures. Not a peep back.

I've got their spear boards, pegs and grips. All high quality and perfect fit. Never an issue. I'd call them and open a customer service ticket. Then you can send them photos of the issue. I'm sure they'll make it right.

I purchased the Kuryakyn's Spear series grips, foot boards, brake pedal and shifter pad. The shifter pad snapped off after 500 miles and they replaced it under warranty. So far no other problems.

I had good experiences with them mostly, but I did get one set of clamps that were milled so badly that they just wouldn't work so I returned them and got another set just like them back and I gave up.

Have the Iso-grips on my bike as well as the Longhorn Highway Pegs. No issues with quality or performance. Instructions that come with their stuff are much better than average.
