Americade 2023 - 40th Anniversary

1239 Views 31 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Lennyz1
Just a reminder to those interested, the 40th annual Americade in Lake George, New York will be May 30th through June 4th this year.
Information and links can be found here.
The schedule can be found here.
Demo info can be found here. As usual, Indian will have most of the lineup available for demo rides. Last two years were on a marked course - NOT follow the leader. I'm assuming this year will be no different.
This is a Family Friendly Event.

👮‍♂️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👮‍♀️BE ADVISED THERE IS TYPICALLY A HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE everywhere within a 20 mile radius of Lake George Village FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT. DON'T make yourself stand out from the crowd and you should have no problems. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

I am in no way affiliated with the event or the staff.
I am simply reminding anyone who is interested in attending of the dates (to schedule time off, or get lodging before the closest / best values are booked up).

They are now back to the pre-COVID time of year for the event. You should expect close to pre-COVID participation levels.

I am NOT soliciting vitriol on the value of tickets, events, or anything related to the event.
It seems every time I post a reminder for this event, a few raw nerves get exposed about event pricing, parking pricing, locations of free parking, the weather,
the temperature of the beer served, the number of wrinkles on the barmaids' legs in the taverns across from the Village Park, .......
If you want to go, the links above are for details on the event.
If you don't, ride safe wherever you do decide to go. 👍

Lastly, if you're unfamiliar with the area and need tips for your stay, or preferred roads to cruise if you're not into the group rides, PM me and I'll do my best to help.
Hope to see some of you there.

Some parking info for those that have never been.

AMERICADE FREE PARKING
Americade offers TWO free parking areas all week long.

YUASA BATTERY Free Parking and Battery Check on Beach Road
(in front of the huge grass park) – Anyone on a motorcycle only (with or without a wristband) can park for free on this section of Beach Road. Americade rents it and offers it for free to all motorcyclists. With Beach Road closed from Canada Street to the Steamboat parking area, access this parking area via Elizabeth Little Blvd. (old Westbrook Rd).

CARDO SYSTEMS Free Parking at Fort William Henry-Three lots are available for ONLY wristbanded motorcycle riding attendees (and Fort William Henry guests). These lots fill quickly, so get there early to secure a space. Very limited car parking in Lot 2.

LAKE GEORGE VILLAGE PAID PARKING

The Village of Lake George offers PAID Parking throughout the village. It is not controlled or sold by Americade. It is controlled by the Village of Lake George.

HOW TO GET A PP PASS: Lake George Village sells a Preferred Parking Pass (the famous “PP pass”), which allows you to park in any of their metered spots ALL Americade Week.

PP Passes will be sold by the village at registration AND on Westbrook Rd.

Been going to Laconia and Sturgis for the last decade+ and never had to register for anything <sigh>
When you walk along the main beach road and every bike has PP on it, you just think "ripped off" and then you have to pay to get into the small vendor area.

Yeah, I bi### and every year, we go and find a free spot to squeeze in on main street because I refuse to pay, just on principle.

The weather looks great this year so we'll be there to walk the street and then trek up beautiful Rt 9 , Keene Valley, Ausable Chasm and Whiteface Mountain....

Started going to Americade in '87. Been to about 25 so far, the last one about 8 years ago. We plan on getting up to South Glens Falls on Friday afternoon and going to the Expo vendor area on Million Dollar Beach on Saturday. And the weather looks beautiful! Hope to see other Indian riders there...
Ride safe.

Sounds like you have some good riding planned. Try to ride up through there a few times every year.

My wife decided she wanted to go this year so we just reserved a room on the "strip" at Lake George for Thursday/Friday.

Next week a couple days out to Laconia and up the coast of Maine. After that, couple weeks out West, CA coast and Sturgis...what I look forward to every year.

Where are you located? Maybe we can meet up some time.
Hit the TeePee for the yearly shirts. Now at

Martha’s to cool off.

I live about 90 miles South of Lake George and also have a place on Great Sacandaga Lake. I am planning in Lake George Friday, but this morning I see they are now calling for thunder storms from about noon on. So my schedule may change.

Was supposed to go to Laconia. Have room booked, but wife got vacation time pulled and she cannot go. So my daughter said she wanted to go, but she had a little mishap on her Vespa last Thursday and broke her leg and had to have surgery on it. So looks like my away time to Laconia 100 is not happening.

Marth's looks quiet, still early in the season. I typically never stop there because it is to busy. Ride up 9N to just about Ticonderoga and try Wind Chill if you have not done it before. It's busy, just not crazy like Martha's can be and has good ice cream

Sorry to hear about your wife’s vacation request denial, and your daughter’s bad fortune. I hope her recovery is quick and complete.

Rode down to Lake George yesterday morning, left at 7:00, had a detour on 28N to Blue Ridge Rd. Got there arond 11:00 and wandered around until 12:00 when they opened vendor alley. Pretty quiet (I like that) had two other riders, had lunch, no demo rides until Thursday. Did some extra riding around and got back home at 7:00, 355 miles great day for a ride.

Blue Ridge Rd is a nice ride! They had 28N shut down?
