Americade 2023 - 40th Anniversary

1209 Views 31 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Lennyz1
Just a reminder to those interested, the 40th annual Americade in Lake George, New York will be May 30th through June 4th this year.
Information and links can be found here.
The schedule can be found here.
Demo info can be found here. As usual, Indian will have most of the lineup available for demo rides. Last two years were on a marked course - NOT follow the leader. I'm assuming this year will be no different.
This is a Family Friendly Event.

👮‍♂️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👮‍♀️BE ADVISED THERE IS TYPICALLY A HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE everywhere within a 20 mile radius of Lake George Village FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT. DON'T make yourself stand out from the crowd and you should have no problems. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

I am in no way affiliated with the event or the staff.
I am simply reminding anyone who is interested in attending of the dates (to schedule time off, or get lodging before the closest / best values are booked up).

They are now back to the pre-COVID time of year for the event. You should expect close to pre-COVID participation levels.

I am NOT soliciting vitriol on the value of tickets, events, or anything related to the event.
It seems every time I post a reminder for this event, a few raw nerves get exposed about event pricing, parking pricing, locations of free parking, the weather,
the temperature of the beer served, the number of wrinkles on the barmaids' legs in the taverns across from the Village Park, .......
If you want to go, the links above are for details on the event.
If you don't, ride safe wherever you do decide to go. 👍

Lastly, if you're unfamiliar with the area and need tips for your stay, or preferred roads to cruise if you're not into the group rides, PM me and I'll do my best to help.
Hope to see some of you there.

I always wanted to go to Americade, but lived over 1200 miles away from Lake George. According to google maps now I am only 300 miles away. Maybe this year is the year. I sure would like a demo ride on the new Goldwing.
Thanks for the info.(y)

As of right now, I'll be there probably Friday this year depending on weather. Takes me about 30 minutes to get to Lake George. Let me know when you are going @PeacePipe and maybe we can meet up.

I may also ride down on Friday, weather should always believe it will rain. I would say of the 30+ times, maybe 10 it didn't at least rain part way. It is about 180 miles each way down, would be happy to meet up with some fellow riders.

I have never gone to Americade before and seriously thinking about going this year. One of the main things I'm especially interested in are the demo rides. I have a question that those who have been before can probably answer.
I went to the website and found the link to various "passes". The cheapest level says that it gives you access to the factory demos 2 hours prior to other groups. The website says that demo rides are held from 9 am 4 pm. Does this mean with this pass you can show up to the demo area @ 7 am to sign up for rides?

The Road Warrior pass gets you parking right next to the Demo lot. We get there about 7:30 AM and you can pretty much get your pick of the litter. Walking around the area, i had many factory reps come up to be ask me to ride their bikes. Not many people there early. By around 10:00 AM it is packed.

So yes, get there early and you will be rewarded.

Will there be an INDIAN meet and greet at Americade sometime over the Friday - Sunday weekend? Day? Time? Place? etc? Would like to meet fellow tribes and exchange tribal knowledge.
Hope to see ya!

A lot of that answer will probably depend on the weather. I live about an hour South of LG, so I can head there anytime.
Anyone can always post here when they're planning on being there and make arrangements to meet up at that point.
Yeah when time gets closer we can post a meet location here and anyone available can meet up.

Nothing set up by the local dealer Menneto's Indian (about 15 miles away) that I am aware of, but Spitzie's Harley (about 30 miles away)has a huge bash every year and is packed!

Either you can but a pass for Americade which will include parking, of there are business that offer parking around the village that have signs out and charge for day use. Or I think you may be able to stop at the Chamber of Commerce on the way into town and buy a street parking pass.

Bump. The event is only four weeks away.

Whether you’re stoked about the event or not, Memorial Day marks the “unofficial start of Summer”. I AM stoked about that.
Does anyone have any experience with or have opinions about the Mohican Resort Motel @ Lake George? It's a bit less expensive than the places right in the heart of Lake George and I'm thinking about booking a room there.
I do not. The only one I’ve stayed in recently is the Fort William Henry.

We stayed at the Fort William Henry hotel (looking at the hotel, to the left, ground level). Not sure how the "main" hotel is but where we stayed, for the outrageous price, it was a dump...never again.

Since then, we have stayed at some of the lesser "attractive" places like the Lake Motel and Pinebrook and have enjoyed ourselves. There is something very appealing about riding your bike to the event and staying at a less than glamourous place. I know when I ride out West for 2 weeks, it just seems to put you in the mood to find a very simple place to crash.

We enjoy the nightlife at Lake George so finding a place "on the strip" where we can easily walk the mile from one end to the other, is very enjoyable for us.
