Hooked up an open road trailer wiring harness. All works fine when i test the output at the plug end with a 12v test light. No issues from the bike end.

When I hook up to the trailer, the running lights and turn signals work fine, but as soon as I hit the brake lever, the 15amp isolator fuse blows and the trailer lights all go out. Tried it twice, same result.

I went by an aluma wiring diagram that said the brake wire was red (and there were 5 wires) so I installed a flat 5 plug on the trailer with the blue (brake) wire (same colour on plug as open road isolator output) spliced to the trailer’s red wire. I’m wondering if this info is bogus and that’s why i’m blowing fuses.

Any advice appreciated.
thanks
