Rolled out at 4:55 this morning for a ride. I am new to Indian, so first time out in the dark. I took the windshield off the Vintage, fired her up, and turned on all the lights. Cruising along, I noticed that no bugs were hitting me, but I could see them and they were almost parting in front of the bike. Does the fin on the nacelle have an aerodynamic effect? Please advise if I am resurrecting a previous thread; I did a search and came up with nothing on the site.

Think you will find the sight of a big thumping indian coming towards them just scares them out the way!!!!!!

I've noticed this too. The only logical conclusion is that the bugs all think that the Vintage is too pretty to be stained with their greasy little demonic bodies.

I suspect it's a matter of the windshield being almost flat. The air probably parts around the bike whether the shield is on or not, but it can't separate fast enough to get out past the sides of the shield so the bugs hit it.
