2023 Scavenger Hunt

Most of this is directly plagiarized from last year and @bgillen35

Hi All! Welcome to the 2023 Scavenger Hunt.

Here are the rules:

1. Please go out and ride, no old pictures or pictures from your garage or driveway.

2. Your motorcycle must be in the photo with the item. If needed, take a picture with the complete bike and then a second to hilight the challenge. It was mentioned last year that sometimes only a mirror was present- and I was definitely guilty of that.

3. When the item is found, please post the location and any interesting details about the item.

4. The member that finds the item gets to pick the next challenge at the time of the posting.

5. Unless specified by the challenge creator, signs, logos, murals, etc. of the item are acceptable (i.e current challenge is a windmill. A company that has a windmill in their logo is acceptable if you are not in an area with actual windmills).

6. Remember, we are an international forum. Please try to pick something where everyone could participate.

7. Please do not repeat items. A current list of all challenges will be maintained below.

8. If the item is not found within 7 days, the same member will pick another item.

I’ll give the honor of first call to @bgillen35 for all his hard work last year for the first challenge.

Per the 2022 hunt, we are waiting on the side challenge from @BRI UK- “unusual roadside sign” see post #6

Good luck and have fun!

Ok all you scavengers, since the pink elephant hasn't been found and it's now the first item of the "open challenge" of the year and needs a replacement to keep things going, I name "an art car" as its replacement.

Art Car: "An art car is a vehicle that has had its appearance modified as an act of personal artistic expression. "

So no food trucks, business advertising vehicles, show car paint jobs, vinyl wraps, etc.

Here are some Art-Car examples:

Tire Vehicle Wheel Automotive parking light Motor vehicle

Land vehicle Vehicle Car Motor vehicle Truck
Wheel Tire Car Vehicle Motor vehicle
Tire Wheel Land vehicle Vehicle Car

Car Vehicle Sky Wheel Tire

*custom painted vans are acceptable as long as to the best of your knowledge the van is a probably a daily driver and isn't a show-van.

I agree, but according to the fellow the wife designed, cut, and placed it. So I figured it was close to the spirit of the target.
If it were a vinyl kit that someone could've purchased, I would've said No. But since it was a DIY project, then I say it should count.

To the casino I go!

Hard Rock Casino, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Next up is Bigfoot. It can be Sasquatch, the abominable snowman, a Yeti, any folklore furry creature like that. Must be a physical representation, not just text or a monster truck.

*edited for grammar.

Got off work a bit early and was all set to grab this. There’s seven casinos within an hour of me. No Bigfeet anywhere near…
I was going to ask for bonus points since I had to brave a temperature in the 30s and light snow flurries here to get the photo. It's a big change from the 62 degrees we had yesterday. :)

I didn’t realize VW was putting so much effort in to green cars.
Now don't you go turning the Scavenger Hunt into an E/V thread! :ROFLMAO:

Looks like @Lee-Bro is 1/3 on his challenges being found. Let’s get another going.
I can't believe no one found Bigfoot!

Ok, so the new one is someone on old-school quad roller skates. It can be an actual person or artwork. They can be a roller derby person, a boardwalk skater, a clumsy kid who got lost out of the roller rink...but no inline skates (those are the Devil's rollers!)

For example:
Footwear Sports uniform Knee pad Sports equipment Helmet

*pictured above is "GlamourAzz" a former derby skater from Cincinnati and a friend who passed away recently after a battle w/ cancer, so this challenge is a bit of a tribute to her and a way to say, "F cancer."

Don't know what happened. I haven't been getting alerts for scavenger hunt. I know where two big foot critters are and could have gotten one. Dang!
You still can, it's considered an "open challenge" now as I understand it, along w/ the Pink Elephant. Correct me if I'm on wrong on that.

Dang it, I forgot about the side quest challenge for this year. I'm out here tryin' to roll natural 20s on the main quest and passing up possibly bonus loot.
Pink elephants and roller skates… these are damned near impossible around here.
Could you imagine finding a pink elephant on skates?!

Pink Elephant has been mapped. Great job, Bri!
Dude. Roller skaters in the dead of winter are sparse!
It's not winter everywhere. ;-)
come ride with me in San Diego…land of eternal room temperature…
I may take you up on that in '24. I have tentative road trip/riding plans for this year already which include a trip up to the northeastern states and possibly an adventure ride w/ www.motorcyclesherpa.com A friend of mine is working with them as a guide now and we've talked about putting together a ride of friends in the fall of this year (if schedules align).

I'll raise you 5 Sasquatch. 4 outside and 1 inside the door. The Lodge in Tempe, AZ.
...+ the 1 that rode the motorcycle. ;-)

Well done, Phil!

The current challenge is still a roller-skater w/ old school quads (actual person or artwork). If no one finds one today, I'll post a new challenge later tonight.
I want to know if @Darkimedes nearly sh.it himself driving down the street and how it all went about as well. -though I will say that in some of the items I've claimed, I've asked people to move so I could take a photo and then explained the scavenger hunt to them.

Also, location of said roller skater?
As a side note, for this year on the map, I've included the submitted photo for the found challenges.

They still have a few in airports. Wonder if they'll let me ride my bike in there?
Just show up like this and you'll be fine:

If acceptable, the next challenge is a double railroad overpass. Meaning, one set of tracks passes over the other, like a car overpass would be.
