If you're looking at this post, you probably know what's in store here. This 2017 Chieftain Dark Horse has been outfitted with the 116ci big bore kit and all the supporting modifications (OEM oil cooler, intake, exhaust, and ECM tune). The stock highway bar was changed out to fit the lower fairings, and tipover protection bars added to protect the hard saddle bags. The trunk was added at the same time as the Ultimate driver and rider seats, and a Captain Itch heat guard to give some insulation from engine heat. The installed floorboard spacers help keep your feet planted a bit further from the engine and exhaust.
This bike is not for the faint of heart, or the weak in the knees (it does weigh 900lbs dry). There is no shortage of torque in any gear, at any RPM. Once you learn to tame the throttle, it is just as comfortable as it is powerful. Thanks to the HyperPro progressive fork springs and Fox air shock, this bike is butter-smooth on the highway.
All maintenance has been performed by the local Indian dealership, with the most recent service performed in March (yearly checkup and oil change). Brand new Antigravity lithium battery installed in March, Klockwerks adjustable windshield installed just last year. Fresh inspection as of May 2023. Included in the sale is a WheelDock, for the perfect parking job every time. Simply bolt it to the floor of your trailer or lag it into a cement garage floor to keep the bike straight and level with the front tire insulated from the floor.
