Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum, I have an issue and a question guys. I just was given my uncle's 2002 scout. My uncle past away last month. It's a 2002 scout but, I want to change the motor oil and transmission oil but, everywhere I ask here in San Diego dealersships they wont or cant tell me what brand or kind of oil and oil filte. I really want to bring this bike alive in memory of my uncle.
Thanks you guys in advance

I'm not a Gilroy owner but I would think anything that works for an S&S or Harley EVO motor would work just fine. A good 20W50 oil for the engine and whatever is commonly used in the transmission and in the primary case should do.

Thank you for your response I really appreciate. I was told there is two types of oil filters but, here in California they can't tell me which one I need.

Use the K&N 171C and a motorcycle oil rated 20W50. 2.7 quarts or so to fill it.

Yes, without starting an oil thread shootout, my preference is redline or mobil 20w50. i have also used mobil 15w50 in the engine with good results. they all test well at bobstheoilguy website. good luck.
