OK. I have a 2000 Chief with an S&S 88 engine. I noticed some oil leaking from under the primary as it was sitting in my garage. I looked under the bike and there is no drain plug in the bottom of the primary.
My question is, if this is a dry primary (2001 is when wet primarys' were introduced), why do I have a drain hole/plug on this engine and why is there oil coming out of it? It wasn't a lot of oil, about 4-6oz? I took off the inspection and clutch cover plates and confirmed that this is a DRY Primary ie: there is a rubber belt and not a chain inside the primary.
Any suggestions on why there would be oil in this and why this bike would have a drain plug on the primary?
