Greetings,
I have a couple of questions.
I have been asked by someone with a private museum to run their 1947 indian chief.
I looked at the bike yesterday and there was no oil in it. They had synthetic oil and i told them that it is the wrong oil.
What weight of oil should be run in this machine?
Also how do i tell if the bike has been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt? The reason i ask is that there was a dead 12 volt battery in it. It should have a 6 volt in it.
Any pointers on getting it running?
It is completely restored to factory specs.

If you can't get an answer from Kiwi, call Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, NC. (828) 926-6266. I'm sure they could help, too.

I had a 46 years ago and it had a magneto. Battery was for lights only. Lighting with 6volts was terrible hence the upgrade to 12 volts. At a time when I had little income I would snag an old 6 volt volkswagen battery from out back the gas station and use it wired under the seat. When your a high school kid anything is possible.
