gas tank

  1. Indian Scout
Hey everyone, Another question for all the experts and wizards out there. Soon after I purchased the bobber I noticed that the mirrors were banging into the fuel tank. There appears to be no damage to the actual metal, it is more of a smudge or paint dent. Any ideas on how to remedy this...

  3. Indian Motorcycle Tech Q & A
I thought the tank on the Vintage was five gallons. Now I know for a fact the it is 5.5. Fortunately this little experiment ended well. I would be curious to know about anyone else’s experience with an empty or near empty tank.
  4. Indian Motorcycle Tech Q & A
I noticed the gas tank on my 2017 RM will move (wobble) a tiny bit if I try and move it (I was cleaning it). Are they designed to move slightly or are they meant to be rigid?

So that lovely looking red coating inside the gas tank has began to bubble and flake off into the gas tank. Has anyone else experienced this? I know a few scratches might be normal from contact with the pump nozzle, but this is literally flaking off. The dealership said they'll most likely swap...

So, after some thought and ideas from other member threads, I finally got around to adding a 1.5 Liter fuel bottle mount to my Scout. I believe it turned out pretty darn good. Did not take much effort and I think it looks pretty good (in my opinion). I used some Home Depot products, Vice, Drill...

I will be buying a Scout soon ........IF I can make myself tolerate a 3.3 gal tank on a bike that will prob not be real good on gas. Does anyone know if Indian is planning on making the tank bigger, or is there any aftermarket tanks available....BTW.....this is my first post in what I hope to be...

Best way to remove that "gas warning" sticker on the tank?
  9. Indian Motorcycle General Discussion
I'm waiting to take a delivery of January 2016 built Indian Chief Vintage in Star Silver and Black (trading in 2015 Vintage). I walked around the bike in the showroom and I was disappointed. It appears, Indian/Polaris is no longer finishing off their tanks by cleaning up weld marks before...

Put gas in the bike for first time today. Tried to push the nozzle down to where the shutoff cup on the nozzle would cover the opening on the tank, wouldn't go. So I see there's a little bar down there spanning the opening. Is that normal? Do you have to fill up by eye?
  11. Indian Scout Guides and How-To's
Has anyone removed the gas tank from a Scout. If you have, please post a description and photos if you can. I know how to detach the bottom end, but I can't tell what is holding the front end in place. I want to route some wires under it. I want to see under it. I want to see the intake set up...
