So, last fall my lifters failed ...
But, $4,500 later and I've got a fresh 116 bbk installed by the dealer in Salt Lake City! I've been absolutely loving the bike ever since. Put about 3k miles on it this season so far.
My only complaint was that my right leg would be cooking all the time...
I stopped by an Indian dealer yesterday to see if they had any aftermarket headers w/o CATs and sure enough, they have a set of Fuel Motto Jackpots. I was hoping to get a set of those or TAB Performance headers. Since the dealership had the Jackpots in stock, I scheduled the install. In the...
I have 2019 Chieftain. Considering the rear engine deactivation, I have not yet experienced any major heat issues.
However, I was wondering if de-catting (catalytic converter removal) would improve the exhaust note and performance.
well i got sick of the heat and tore exhaust off not real easy... so if anyone digs the cat out be ready to work.... took lil over hour to dig that crap out no wonder bikes get hot good lord i dont see how exhaust passed thru. so i got it tacked up and will finish tommorrow get bike...
My local dealer offers what they call an X Pipe that replaces the stock catalytic converter, etc for $359.10 wondering if I should go this route or just gut out, modify the stock cat? According to the dealership or should I say "stealership" they claim that I won't be getting better performance...
Decided to reduce the amount of heat on my right leg with a surplus header pipe - have seen various methods - here is another one ... instead of opening it right up .. used a hole saw and pulled it out and welded back up again - what are your thoughts ??
Gutted my cat and made a big difference in the heat coming from it.

Hows it going my people?
Have a 2018 Springfield I just took delivery of. The Scout was not up to longer rides like I had hoped, at least the comfort level wasnt there. ANyway, I've heard all about the heat off the cylinder heads but after taking the SF for a test ride and running it in a...
Ok, I am seriously considering gutting the cat on my 16 CDH. My question is, is there any down sides? Do I loose low end torque because of lack of back pressure?

I removed my exhaust pipes and cut the back side and removed my catalic convertor, welded it back up and removed my O-2 Censors and capped them off....I ride in short pants most of the time, I live in Texas but currently working out of state....
Did not think about it at the time but I could...
Greetings to all,
I have a 2014 Vintage Chief. with less than 5K miles. 100% stock. Have done nothing to the bike besides removing the silly "whatyoumaycalledit" plug in the pipes. For different reasons I have slowed down my bike riding. I have 3 motorcycles and try to give my bikes equal riding...
Looking for someone who can gut the catalytic converter out of the stock exhaust head pipe of my 2017 Chieftain Dark Horse. I posted a prior thread asking about the best header pipe to use and almost everyone felt that it was best just to take the catalytic converter out of the stock pipe...
I'm in the market to dump the cat for some heat relief. Current options are a neutered stocker, x-pipe, FM header, and the true dual options from Rush & FP. Any others?
I've read the stocker ends up tinny, not interested in that. The true duals lose low end torque, not interested in that...
I know that there is already a bunch of posts about de-catting the head pipe. What I could not find is information about possibly adding baffles to the exit pipes from the cat box. I did read a thread where Enzo added baffles to his mufflers when he de-catted his head pipe, but I am...
Hey everyone! I am going to be removing the Catalytic Converter and wanted to see if anyone had a picture of where I should place the separation plate inside like American Custom has done. Thank you!!
