  1. Indian Chieftain
I have benefited from this forum, hence, I thought of sharing my experience. I could not find a comfortable riding position with the factory windshield (IMO is garbage). Based on the popularity, I added the 14" Klock Werks windshield with flare. It helped but did not eliminate the issue. Also...

Just got a nice email from a customer about our lowers we make for the 111 bikes. Lowers seem to do a lot to improve the ride on these bikes. I think any brand will help but of course you should get yours here....LINK:https://www.indianaftermarket.com/111-fork-lowers.html Here is the customers...

I see a lot of threads trying to stop wind buffeting. I have found a simple, inexpensive solution if you do not have a fairing. Remove the windshield! No more buffeting. You are welcome. That is all.
  4. Indian Chief Vintage
I saw this question asked but never answered. can someone verify whether or not installing the dashbag on the Vintage increases buffeting? I installed my dashbag right away after getting my bike home. I seem to remember the ride home from the dealer to be a lot less turbulent than it is now...

I noticed buffeting on the test ride (over 60-65 mph) and coming off a 1200GS that had NONE, I knew I would need to fix it. I’d rather not add the fork mounted deflectors if possible. Has anyone fixed buffeting with a windshield change alone? Maybe one of the flared options? Appreciate any...
  6. Indian Chief Classic
Still snowing up here in the north, so thought I would ask a few questions that I can't fine definitive answers to. 1. Anyone find a bracket for the Classic that will mount a Cobra low sissy bar? I have a new Cobra bar,pad and back piece that I think would look good on the bike. 2. I have a...

Keeping my Springfield instead of trading it in for a Limited. Looking for anyone of similar height with a definitive fix for the buffeting before I spend the money. Any inputs are welcome...and thanks in advance!!. P.S. I know there is already info abut this on the forums but it's...
  8. Indian Springfield

Just installed a set of lowers on my scout. Fabricated them from some older ones I had and added plexiglass to add some height and width. Has made a big difference in wind and helmet beffeting. High speed riding is a lot more comfortable. Will try to post a couple of pics as soon as I figure...
  10. Indian Motorcycle General Discussion
Just thought I would share my novice experience with the buffeting issues, and have you guys weigh in with any other thoughts. I have a 2016 chief classic and bought a half helmet initially. I would get buffeting / wind blast to the face above 55 mph, so I thought I needed a windshield. I...
  11. Indian Scout
My commute is 70 miles daily on my scout. 90 percent Interstate...so 70 or 80 mph. For about a year I have been trying to figure out where to find a solution to my problem with wind buffer. It vibrates my full face hjc helmet and I get a pretty terrible headache. I tried all sizes of the indian...

SO i just installed the OEM low windshield for my Classic. in a certain direction into the wind, buffeting is terrible. the windshield is the right height because i can barely see over it and not through it. Also the wind seems to come up from the bottom a heck of a lot worse now for some...
  13. Indian Springfield
Upon my question to Indian regarding the size of the stock factory windshield on the Springfield vs. the Chief Vintage, I received this detailed, thorough response from Spirit Lake. I'm really appreciating their customer support. (Be aware: Dealers don't appear to be swapping windshields at...
  14. Indian Roadmaster
After 800 miles on my RM it is easy to say I am in love with this bike with one exception.....I am getting a fair amount of buffeting on the top of my helmet at highway speeds which I was not expecting on this bike. On longer trips this can be a PIA and leaves me a little rummy after a longer...
