I bought a torque wrench recently specifically for torqueing my drain plugs. too many people stripping them out. after I bought mine at an autoparts place, I was in harbor freight and noticed they carried several sizes of torque wrenches but one particular item seemed very interesting. It was an adapter that you put on a standard ratchet or breakover bar that measures the torque. I dont' know if it clicks or has an audible sound because it was about the size of a large socket and was digital. Has anyone used this or compared it to a typical torque wrench. it is 1/2" drive but looked like some adapters might come with it.

I use some Harbor Freight stuff but NEVER torque wrenches. Even if they were accurate the first time you use them I doubt they would hold that accuracy after a few uses. Their tools do have some uses but not anything that requires precision.

Here is a torque wrench that is made by the same company that makes the Snap On torque wrenches. It comes with a calibration card also. I have some of these for work and very good quality and feel. It is simply a matter of you get what you pay for. Don't go cheap on torque wrenches. Dean
