Challenger headlight upgrade

At a rally this fall, a friend made a comment about not being able to see the headlight on my '22 Challenger. He's used to riding with Yamaha new gen Ventures and Eluders, which have a light that melts cacti at 100 yards.

So, I went looking for options. Hoo-boy, the $$ will take your breath away. The requirement for fairing disassembly is a bit discouraging, as well. I'm not really that handy. Gonna shop carefully on this upgrade, and I might decide I need a seat more than I need the light. Still, is there an established go-to for the light upgrade? The reviews for the Indian kit are mediocre.

I went with Eagle lights and happy with it. The fairing is only daunting the first time you have to take it off, after you know where all of the fasteners are, it’s much easier. If you have small hands, you could possibly get away with just removing the light surround to replace the light. I did that once because I had the light misaligned.

I agree on eagle lights. Also- your light might not be aimed properly. From the factory , mine was waaaaay low (frighteningly low visibility a night). Try aiming your stock headlight and see how that goes. there’s tons of videos online that show how to do it. It made a giant difference for me

#1 thing, check your adjustment. I put on the Indian Adaptive and I love it! (It does light up the inside of the curves just a little more and its hard to tell when it does it.) When I put mine one, I aimed at the same time and I might has well have pointed the thing at the ground!

The brightest seems to be the LP6 but it requires the most modification. (Cutting the bezel a little.)

As for the fairing, don't be afraid to take it off. I've had mine off at least a dozen times now. It's not hard at all after you do it a couple times. Just don't over-tighten anything when you put it back on.

You mean the one with "This light is intended for off road use only. The LP6 light from Baja Designs is not DOT approved." on the web site? Sorry, not planning to take my Challenger off-road any too soon. If it's as bright as some of the similar lights I've seen on quads, I'm not too interested in blinding oncoming traffic, either.

Currently have an Eagle Gen II Halo and have been offered the Indian Pathfinder Progressive as a no cost change - anyone able to tell be what the comparative performance is like - best light spread / brightness is my priority. Thanks

The IMC adaptive light is a great light and an upgrade if you get it for free, I liked mine. You will need a splitter to make the halo and headdress work.

obviously the lp6 and alike are better once I switched to it. But free is free for the adaptive.

A new option that was just released

Like several noted above the headlight alignment is key. I would go the route of adding accessory/ driving lights to spruce up the foreground and peripheral zones. After that consider the headlight upgrade, secondary lighting is a must for night riding.
