I've heard many say this was coming .. but .. I personally didnt' see it ... not this soon. Obviously, they see the value in Indian and are switching gears to focus

I may start thinking of getting a Magnum X1 .. on the 'cheap ' .. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

This is a MAJOR announcement for the industry. Sales are down in many segments, I hope that Polaris sees the merits of pumping more of their dollars, time and effort into building our brand!

I doubt it .. they'll suck it up and come over .. majority is my guess , eventually. PI is supporting the brand for ten years to come . Not as if the sky is falling

If they would have only thinned the variety of models and upgraded the present line, Victory maybe could have been a real contender with quality product. Maybe they will focus on making Indian a VERY high quality bike and spend more time listening to customers. It seemed as though corporate was spread a little thin as far as customer service and owner input. Just at a time when some other companies are adding to their labor force and building new plants.................................

But ... they are built side by side. Not as if a plant closing is coming... hopefully, the majority starting working on a new model, same line ?

What a shame ... The Freedom 106 is a real good engine with a strong gear box ... many bumped up performance Hammers out there!

(On the other hand ... with some cosmetic redesign ... a viable platform for some new Indian models below the Chief TS111 :D with improved paint ... I hope such cannibalism is not going to trigger bad sentiment against Indian )

Wow, sad to see this happen. Victory has come a long way in my opinion and I really hate to see them go away. One less choice of an American made bike is never good. With that said, I sure hope most of the Victory dealers become Indian dealers and Polaris steps up their game when it comes to customer service in all areas, because it pretty much sucks now. And if Polaris thinks they will win Victory owners over to Indian I think they are wrong, they will lose them to Honda because that's the look they are after.

I can't say I like hearing it. Long term, this is likely a good thing for the Indian brand though. Short term, there will be lots of grumbling.

From the Polaris site : Investor relations slides:
"Focus shifting to Indian Motorcycle with higher growth potential"

    ---
Sounds like this will be good for the Indian brand....

To each his own... but I always considered the futuristic look of the Victory Cruisers to be a tough sell. I guess the market feels the same.

As I have stated before, Polaris has some more growing to do and this is just one of them. More time for Indian, it's good for us.

GM dumped Pontiac, Hummer, and Oldsmobile, Saturn is gone and GM survives. Ford discarded Mercury. It is sad to see a brand go, but it was a good run. So we shall see. Maybe get some good deals on Victory bikes if you need a second for a spare.

One may want to consider trading the Indian off also. I hate to plant that seed but I've seen it with Indian before. And, at this point there's to many operating systems for a guy to keep these running if the company goes under.
