Went to the Barber vintage festival last weekend. They have some really nice Indians on display! 20171007_142108.jpg 20171007_143436.jpg

I love the "Racing was inevitable" caption! Whenever I get on one of these contraptions, big or small, I don't know what it is - I just want to go fast! I know I am not alone in that impulse!

Beautiful old machines! Thanks for posting!

FL Scout. I also just returned from Barber. My first visit and the place even exceeded my very high expectations! And yes, the collection of Indians is very large and quite diverse. Definitely a treasure trove! I've attached just a few examples - so many more are there.

    Hi Diesel.
It was called a Papoose. According to the description card, they were made in England and the plan was to parachute them down with paratroopers during WWII. Then the soldier could retrieve the bike and hopefully motor away. Stats of how many were made or used are pretty scarce.
I think someone had posted a photo of one of these several months ago. Was need to see one in person!

Man, those bikes are freakin' amazing! I'd like to be able to own some vintage bikes like that some day. I love the Papoose too.

I went there for the first time a couple weeks back. Not sure 6 hours was enough to see everything, We tried and I will go back to check out what I missed. MY wife didnt go with me, she isnt much of a fan of old bikes or cars, however, after showing her some of my photos she said she would like to go the next time.
