For those interested, here are some pics of the new dip stick. WAY better than the Polaris version. The Aeromach Dipstick also comes in a nice container. I think I'll use it to send the old Dipstick to the "Museum of Poor Industrial Design" in Tacoma Washington -- it'll make a nice display
Don't tighten it too much. I put mine on finger tight and usually it unscrews easily. So far there has been no leaks, just wonderful riding. And yes I agree $60 can be better spent.
Has anyone considered using finger nail polish or a permeant colored marker to make your dipstick line? I think it was my Grandfather who suggested this to me when I was younger.
The price is OK there is a fair bit of machining in this product
I am glad there is a company out there that takes time to make items that dose improve on the original ones
THANKS AEROMACH
For me, I consider the cost worth my time for a much better product. The OEM version is a crappy design that only promotes NOT checking your oil levels regularly.
But I'm an ardent Capitalist that thinks people should be paid for a better idea.

I put paint on my factory dipstick. There's a tool in your tool pouch for the factory dipstick. I like the way it looks. Sorry, fellas, but that $60 dipstick looks like shit.
I'm sticking with the factory dipstick. I do like the paint on the fill and full lines idea. Also the security of not begin able to just twist it off. A $60.00 dipstick may tempt the dipstick thieves!
Considering what Indian charges for accessories Aeromach's price doesn't seem unreasonable and it is a nice looking item. Still, I think I'll keep the OEM dipstick and instead burn sixty bucks worth of gas in my Vintage.

I would also like to buy anyone's now unused oem stick. Give me an asking price......but remember you're not Polaris! I also am will to trade my oem Dark Horse stick (no tool needed) if anyone wants to deal. Common, you know your tired of looking for that stupid dipstick wrench.

I read on an earlier thread wear someone used white colored shrink wrap on the factory dipstick to make it easier to read. I don't mind the fact that its a PITA to unscrew but I don't care for the fact that it is impossible to read on the black stick.
Not trying to be a smart ass here but I never understood the complaint of not being able to see the level. I see it clearly in light and in dark i lay it on a paper towel or napkin to tell.

Also, the few you you that complained about the price.........were probably the ones that jumped on me when I questioned the price when it was first announced. So Aeromach chimed in and politely explained how this is machined from billet steel and the chrome quality adds to the price along with whatever emblem ( like the Indian head penny ) you want mounted on it. So you all will dole out $400 for a fuel controller thats about $28 in parts and the research and development has already been paid for by others that put out controllers YEARS before the current rage on the new was even thought about. Or Indian floorboards that are horribly overpriced. Or aftermarket shocks that can run 10% of what a Scout 60 sells for ! No bitchin' there, huh? But a $60 dipstick thats superb quality............OMG, let it rip.
